I may know the identity of the "senior C.I.A official"
She is John Bolton's former deputy at USAID, she is also a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights under Ronald Reagan. This position was routinely filled by someone from C.I.A. I also know that she is in continuous contact with John Bolton. I also know that she knew Valerie Wilson and I know that she works for the C.I.A. Whether she has anything to do with the leak is speculation at this moment, but I think it's got wings.

1. Were I you...
I would dial 1-800-FITZMAS if you have something substantive.

3. I sent a letter to his office in Illinois.
He may be already aware of this person, I think she may be the "senior CIA official" that Fitz spoke of.

2. My guess would be George Tenet
He's been hammered for falling down on the job when he was head of the CIA but I distinctly remember that a senior CIA member said after Bush's 16-words speech that the CIA did not believe the Niger documents were a reliable source and should not be trusted.

Yet the Bushies used the documents and Tenet resigned. Even just in the last couple weeks, the investigation into the intelligence that led to war ended and found that the CIA did a piss poor job in relation to WMD, citing Tenet and the CIA leadership as being at fault.

Why could it not be him?
