it is just TPM is understood to be a talking point memo round here..in this instance I was not referring to Josh's site....just the simple talking points that apparently the Repubs have already prepared.

When the naysayers come out, the doom and gloomers, the ABANDON HOPE crowd, that can mean only one thing--they're CORNERED. Frightened. Nervous. Concerned.
And striking out, in whatever way they can.
The more horseshit we have to wade through here, the deeper the cut that has been inflicted on those clowns. If all were well, they'd be celebrating, making snarky comments, and puffing out their chests, not wasting time crapping over here.
By their deeds we shall know them!

20. Re: a new grand jury. |
|
Fitz specifically said, at least twice, that the term of the current grand jury expires, today. Done. No more. It was 18 months, extended by 6 months to the 24 months it existed.
However, he said that in the normal course of prosecuting/trying a long-in-preparation case, it is standard that any grand jury would be available to him. He was careful not to build up hopes though.
He says he will do the job, completely. But, he would have predicted this case would have lasted 1 year, not 2. And, he would like to wake up in his own bed in Chicago, as soon as possible. (Instead of being in DC.)

And he was very careful not to be drawn on how much investigation is still pending or on what further GJ may be required.
But investigation is still ongoing, and national security appears to be the acknowledged underlying issue... although he said he hadn't 'expanded' the terms of this inquiry.
ed: the entire press conference was limited to the "four corners of this indictment".

they have hired bloggers to spread misinformation.. you certainly didnt think they propaganda machine didnt extend to the internet?! No amount of spin can undo what is happening, all it can do is dull the publics knowledge of the facts... and thats what the MSM does, however, millions of Americans are wise to the infotainment of MSM and are seeking alternate info, like AAR... and the polls show that the truth.. or at least the feeling of being deceived, is reaching the populace.. slowly but surely...

It happens all the time.
In this case, the RW hope (and goal) is that we will turn on Fitz, see this as a major disappointment, etc.
And generally, post counts mean nothing (a smart troll establishes "bona fides" before engaging in too obvious trollery). Moreover, some members who act in a troll-like manner are merely falling for RW manipulation, are unable to resist posting their initial emotional reactions, etc.
It's a public commons -- and it's always been rather "weedy".
...
Damn, this thread has turned kinky.
Sweet.

42. It isn't "disinformation" that's the problem. It's the fact people can't |
|
distinguish between an indictment and a conviction.
What's likely is Scooter will cut some kind of deal, and that will be the end of it.
I know people around here are so desperate to get Bush and company out, but it's simply not going to happen given the political reality.
And I just hate this whole circus surrounding the outing of Joe Wilson's wife when there are so many OTHER stories that are FAR more important to most people outside of the blogosphere, DU, and the Beltway.
Hell, there are attempts to gut unions in this country, Medicaid, and food stamps, just to name a few.
But no, we've got to hyperfocus on one thing.
That's what pisses me off with the tunnel vision displayed over Plame.

44. Its all connected, though. Niger, Plame, Abramhoff, PNAC, Iraq, AWOL, |
|
Gonzales, Gitmo, Extraordinary Renditions, Oil, Posse Comitas, Cheney's secret energy meetings, 9/11, Billions missing in Iraq, Sibel Edmonds, its all connected by a thread: the Neocon cabal and their ruthless desire to subvert the american govt and her people to do their bidding in world hegemony.
medicaid and food stamps are also related, in that they are casaulties of the agenda.

43. Yeah, but Fitz was very, very clear to say DON'T read between |
|
the lines.
I mean, I think he may very well be planning to squeeze Scooter-- the presence of "Official A" in the indictment indicates there's someone else out there he's interested in. BUT, he was very careful to not give anything away.
I can see why people might be thinking it's over. They're probably wrong, but maybe not. Fitz was very careful about what he said.

Most of the people on this thread seem to think that Russert is a lying sack of shit, not realizing that in part the indictments rely on him telling the truth. Then there is the gem where someone wonders why Novak isn't mentioned in the indictments, even though he is mentioned. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x5205946#5207321

|
this is over. I think Karl had better buy a mudflap for his @$$ too.
If this goes to trial before the next election the GOP is toast in congress.
Scooter is ether going to rat out the gang, or do time is my guess. The rest is icing on the cake. As the evidence develops in the wrap up of the investigation and the trial, I think other people will get busted too. If the judge lets the evidence into the trial about the lies about Iraq, this will be BIG.
If a civil suit follows the Libby trial, this thing will be Bush's Mushroom Cloud/Swan Song!
