Can someone explain the Tim Russert angle to me?
The threads are flying so fast. What is Tim's role and why are people talking about him hiding?

1. Apparently Scooter lied when he told the FBI he first heard it from

Tim Russert. Scooter first said that Tim Russert said that all the reporters are talking bout Plame is a CIA Agent.

First Libby tried to hang Russert.

I think that is it.

3. He made up a story about talking to Russert
when in reality, he more than likely (according to published reports), found out her status from Dick Cheney himself.

4. When Libby was first asked who told him about Valerie Plame being
CIA, he said he had heard it from Russert and that all the reporters knew it. Therefore he felt it was okay for him to talk to Cooper and Miller about it. When he was asked again, he said that he had "Forgotten" that the undersecretary had told him about it and that it was like "it was all new" to him when Russert (who he claimed was the first person he heard it from when he was actually not) told him.

5. People seem to be confused about what Russert's role was.

"The perjury charge in Count Four alleges that Libby lied while testifying under oath before the grand jury on March 5, 2004, about his conversation with Russert on July 10, 2003, because, in fact, Russert did not ask Libby if Libby knew that Wilson’s wife worked for the CIA, nor did Russert tell Libby that all the reporters knew it, and at the time of their conversation, Libby was well aware that
Wilson’s wife worked at the CIA."
