Bloomberg - On Libby indictment and bush's* war support
Public Doubts

The indictment threatens to throw President George W. Bush's administration into turmoil. The president already is beset by public doubts about the invasion of Iraq, the government's ability to respond to a natural disaster or terrorist attack, and the fight within his own Republican Party that led him to withdraw the nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

Karl Rove, Bush's deputy chief of staff, has made four appearances before the grand jury. He wasn't charged today, and Fitzgerald wouldn't say if his role was still being examined.

Rove's attorney, Robert Luskin, said the presidential adviser ``will continue to cooperate fully'' with the investigation. ``We are confident that when the special counsel finishes his work, he will conclude that Mr. Rove has done nothing wrong,'' Luskin said in a statement earlier today.

Public support for the war, Bush's central foreign policy challenge, may continue to erode with the revelation during the investigation that top officials tried to silence a critic of the war. The investigation also would remind voters that the original rationale for using military force -- Iraq's supposed attempt to stockpile weapons of mass destruction -- was false.

I'm in agreement with this opinion. This will make many people in America stop and question what they have been told to believe.

Things are just beginning to heat up for this Admin and they know that to be a fact. The next year will not be what they expected it to be when they began their planning in November of 2004. There's a much stronger likelihood that 2006 is going to be a year of Republicans distancing themselves from the current president in hopes his stench won't cling to them.

Today was a good day for the future of our Country.
