Okay. . .so what happens now?
If Libby is the only one indicted, I feel a huge letdown. I truly believe this goes all the way to the top, just as the Watergate coverup did.

Libby, I feel, will be this Admin's John Dean, the fall guy.

1. Either a trial or a deal
If there is a deal, then Libby will roll on others, like Cheney and Bush.

If there is a trial, a lot of the dirty dealings of the WH in regards to the buildup to war will come out.

I can't see Bush pardoning Libby at this point, so we only have these two options.

2. He goes on trial. Beyond that, know one knows
Fitzgerald isn't giving hints. He carefully worded everything in the press conference in order to NOT rule anything out. We will learn when he is ready to tell us.

Another thing is that the trial could reveal all sorts of things, too, as far as the 'WHY' (WAR!!!) - during his speech he musta said it 5 times - that he wants to determine the WHY, the reason this happened in the first place. Which we at DU know was to get this coutnry to war on lies.

3. He said trial
Once the trials start information will be made known. It will also be a public trial so it won't be an investigation anymore.

This isn't about to go away, it is just starting. During the trial it will obviously be brought out about why he lied to investigators and he will have to answer to the charges that were brought against him today.

I know some people thought the whole administration was coming down today, but there is a hell of a lot more stuff that will drip out of this whole thing
