That is what the remainder of the investigation is about.

FACE IT. I've read the indictment, and yes, while someone is INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty, I have to say, Mr. Fitgerald has put together an AIR TIGHT CASE.

There is little to imagine in the way of DEFENSE against this case. It now comes down to these questions:

1. DID Libby act alone? (I think everyone here probably believes NO)
2. WHY did they do it? (My hunch is to conceal a larger conspiracy, not as most people believe: retaliation against Wilson)
3. WHO else is involved? (My own belief: Cheney and Bush)

I have FAITH now that this is TRULY being investigated and that the TRUTH may VERY WELL COME OUT.

1. I concur. Where there's smoke there's fire.
I try really hard in my life to lie but usually when I do or have, it's to cover something up that I didn't want to get in trouble for.

2. Hehe, I just asked this of a republican co-worker...
His head nearly exploded (BTW, this is a different republican co-worker than I have previously posted about).

3. The reference to the Niger docs leads me to believe,....
,...Fitz and the grand jury wanted to give the BushCo/neoconster regime a "sign" of just how nuclear the revelations of Libby's criminal will be.

This is the beginning of the end of fascist-like behavior by elected officials.

4. Because it, uh, hinders the president's ability to, uh, receive advice?
Or something like that.

5. just want to say, "thank you, berni"
for your clear, precise, sensible posts today. You are one of the few here today that seems to have their damn head screwed on. It's amazing what a little reading and listening will achieve.

7. Exactly: Why did Libby lie?
That is the next phase of the prosecution--motive. Sadly, I think he will plea before motive is laid bare at trial.
