1. How long will it take him to brief the new GJ? |

Or, maybe he already has....
Let me think. What did he say? He said that prosecutors can use any GJ around. Fitz could conceivably using one GJ for one aspect, and another for other charges. Or, he could already have a GJ in the bank, fully prepared. Anybody know about how that could work?
He also said that the "bulk of the investigation" has been completed. That means that the only thing left is to tie up loose ends and ask another grand jury for more indictments.
I think it's inevitable that we're going to see this. Otherwise, he would not be continuing the investigation. Remember, he said that the underlying activity, outing Plame, hurt the USA. That means he is serious about prosecuting this.
I am optimistic, more so than I was yesterday.

2. Agreed on your optimism |

I don't fault the people who are disappointed, I wanted to see the headline "Rove and Libby indicted" or better yet "Cheney Rove and Libby indicted", but you are absolutely correct in that there is no reason for Fitzgerald to go to a new GJ if he was done.
Now, that doesn't definitively mean he will come back with indictments -- he didn't have what he needed to do that today, and so I can't just assume he will get what he needs next week or beyond -- but it is a very encouraging sign that he is still expecting to go further.
