Libby Will Plead To One of the Counts. Case Over. Nothing Else To See |
|
Here. He'll get a bad sentence because I happen to know the judge that has been assigned to the case. He gives the harshest sentences he can. He'll probably get at least 20 months in a country club prison.
Rove got away. That's it, folks.

Or maybe not. I doubt Fitzgerald put his whole career on the line to be made a fool of. I think he has something and that's why he went forward with it.

2. You generally don't want to plead at trail in the federal system. |
|
You want to plead before indicted, to reduce the charges.
Sentencing guidlines can really suck.

you are right about no trial. There is no way the administration will allow ILL to go to trial. But, there is still some hope that the continuing investigation will push His Pink Pigness out of the WH. I think he's useless now as a strategist on anything with much profile. And his money-raising days are over.

Mr. Libby must come clean to Mr. Fitzgerald's satisfaction. That alone would indicate there is no reason to be unhappy about today's events.

6. To plea wouldn't he have to give something up? |

7. Fill your champagne glass to over half. Drink. Fill again. |
|
Keep the glass over half-full and you'll see things the way we all should see it.
Fitz would *not* be continuing the investigation if there were no other crimes to prosecute.
I know we're all suffering from the lack of info on the case but as Simple Scotty says, "It's an on-going investigation." That means we're not going to hear a peep out of Fitz until things are complete. That fact *also* speaks for more indictments down the road.
I read between the lines that they may come fairly soon because the one important thing he did signal was that the "bulk of the investigation has finished".
Please keep an optimistic outlook. This thing is far, far from over.

Pleading guilty is a win for Fitgerald. Libby doesn't have to give him anything else.
After serving about twenty months, Bush will pardon him before he exits.

9. But not if Fitz has him on additional charges. |
|
Many people are peeved about only Libby indicted. I am not.
I see Fitz playing poker with these guys. He's got them right where he wants them. Rove is not yet off the hook. And neither is Libby entirely out of more danger.
If others are involved, as Fitz *clearly* stated, there could be conspiracy charges. So Fitz feigns weakness and holds back on conspiracy because he wants the net around everybody involved. He needs to firm up that part of the case. As a bonus, this gives him more leverage with Libby as Libby clearly would be charged with conspiracy if anyone was.
I wouldn't be too pessimistic. This is just one more poker hand in a larger game.

10. He could have done that yesterday. Obviously, he's going to trial. |
|
And what is there about "Mr. Rove remains under investigation" that you don't undertand?
