My theory: Rove is getting off the hook cause he set up Libby... |
|
I'm starting to get that Elmer Fudd feeling that the hot chick I was glamming on was the rabbit I shoulda been hunting. Could it be that Libby's the fall guy? Rove might've been in on the leak, but the indictment is for Libby's role in the cover up. Rove has managed to get Libby to do the heavy lifting on the cover up, which is where the real meat and potatoes of political scandals lie. Rove walks while Libby frogmarches. Am I missing something?

1. Fitzgerald isn't done with Rove yet |
|
He isn't out of the game yet, he just needs a new grand jury to go after him and the rest of the cronies.

5. If you were D*ickie-boy and |

the Turdblossom just crapped all over your right-hand guy, what would you be doing now. If it was me in the D*ickie-bird seat, I'd be planning my countermove against the PinK Pigster--UNLESS--I knew darn well that I didn't dare....

9. It took three grand juries to get the evidence to indict Bugman |
|
So it will probably take more than one grand jury to indict KKKarl Rogue.

3. Yes - more indictments coming for Rove and Libby - unauthorized disclosure |
|
of classified info and conspiracy to do same. Rove is probably going to get nailed for perjury also.

Then the next couple years as a "Fox News analyst". Along with North, Liddy, and Morris.

6. I'm really not convinced of that. |
|
What information in the Libby indictment reads like something that would depend on information that only Rove could provide?
My opinion is that Libby got caught in lies about what he told the grand jury about his interactions with the press. The information that argues for that wasn't dependent on anything Rove could offer.
So, I'm of the opinion that if Rove cut a deal, it isn't about Libby at all.
Time will tell.

10. Rove turned "state's evidence" |
|
he ain't off the hook - not by a long-shot! Today, "the squeeze" was put on Libby......face 30 yrs. jail time or turn state’s evidence too and tell the truth.
Rock. Hard place.

14. OK, but if it comes down to Rove vs Cheney... I think Rove wins |
|
The neocons are fuck ups, ideologues. Rove keeps on surprising me and winning while the Neos only surprise me with their lack of imagination.

15. This is the part in the TV drama |
|
Where the perps are separated and told that The Other Guy is pointing the finger at THEM! (cue Sam Waterston saying "You better level with me or you're taking the Fall all by yourself...") Trickle, trickle, trickle. The prosecutor goes back and forth between perps and with each new tidbit of info they volunteer, the Big Picture emerges with greater clarity until the crime is solved. Cue closing credits. Dissolve into commercial.
Classic and effective TV formula. Rove and Libby can't exactly strategize with one another any more and it's every man for himself. Right now Rove is feeling like Big Pussy in The Soprano's!
