For the few of you who said you're disappointed, don't be. CELEBRATE!
Think about it. Two people were up for indictments today. Not just anyone either. These were senior WH officials! One of them got his ass handed to him and the jury is STILL out on the other. For a group of people (us Democrats) who've been slapped silly for over 5 years, I think this is a day to celebrate.

Then there's THE SPEECH itself..or press conference. Fitzgerald was incredible. That speech, in conjunction with Libby's indictment, was enough to restore my faith in this country, at least for the time being. For the first time since all the madness and corruption started, I suddenly feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Today gives me hope...and confidence that justice will be served. Today gives me a real good feeling that this isn't going to stop with the indictments of Libby. Nor will it stop with a non-indictment of Karl Rove, if indeed that's the case. Today makes me think that there is much more to come. Today makes me think that this can't help but lead to Cheney's demise....and after that, we just might see justice served to the Mother of all Criminals, himself, in the form of his own indictments and then a resignation or impeachment. Today makes me realize that good prevails over evil. Sometimes it just takes a while, but it always ends up prevailing.

After listening to Fitzgerald, I'm proud of him, proud to be his fellow American, happy to be a DU'er, just feeling real good. I never imagined Patrick Fitzgerald to be such a commanding figure as he was today. Good gawd he was something. If you haven't listened to his press conference live, please find a tape of it to listen to. It is so uplifting you won't believe it. This man is working for us and for an honest & dignified America, and he's just as smart as he is tough. He won't be pushed around by the bad guys, and he made that clear during his long, inspiring, GUTSY, press conference. My hat is off to Patrick Fitzgerald.

This is only the beginning, folks.

1. I have a bad feeling about this
Guys, a friend does political commercials and said that one will be coming up soon of Kerry and Durbin outting a Mr Smith during the Bolton hearings. Did we just shoot ourselves in the foot? I googled it and it happened. I am horrified!

3. I knew Fitzgerald would perform top notch!
I just knew it! I don't think freepers would even attempt to smear him. How do you smear a guy like that? It's not possible.

7. Are you kidding?
I'm delirious. Overjoyed. Happier then I've been since Bush stole the country in 2000. This is just the beginning of the end. It is so over for these bastards. It's just not going to be overnight. My guess it will take a good two years to flush these bastards out of the systems but we are finally on the way.

12. The jury's out on good prevailing over evil
I think you're right, though. When it sounded as if all we'd get -- ever -- was one count of making misleading statements, I was really dejected. But we have five counts, including perjury and obstruction of justice. Those are big.

And it ain't over yet.

I agree with you about Fitzgerald's presentation. He slapped Libby silly, and I imagine he's going to do the same with other folks.

There's more coming along in relation to this issue, too. Now, there's going to be a criminal trial unless Libby agrees to a pretty stiff sentence. After that speech, no way Fitzgerald would accept a plea for something trivial. Also, the Wilson's may still bring their civil suit.

To me, the most important thing is that the whole truth gets out there. Bolton may not have done anything illegal, but I want John Q. Public see him in this up to his ears.

As much as revenge would be sweet, what we really need to do is disgrace the entire PNAC/"Conservative" agenda -- paleo as well as neo. We need to make sure they can't rear their ugly heads for another 50 years or so. Then, maybe we can get some good accomplished.
