Libby is only the first??? |
|
"Mr. Libby's story that he was at the tail end of a chain of phone calls, passing on from one reporter what he heard from another, was not true. It was false," the prosecutor said. "He was at the beginning of the chain of the phone calls, the FIRST official to disclose this information outside the government to a reporter. And he lied about it afterward, under oath, repeatedly."
I find this paragraph very interesting. Sounds like Fitzgerald has evidence of a leak from at least one other top administration official. More will be revealed...

From Fitz's news conference:
"But in early June, Mr. Libby learned about Valerie Wilson and the role she was believed to play in having sent Mr. Wilson on a trip overseas from a senior CIA officer on or around June 11th, from an undersecretary of state on or around June 11th, and from the vice president on or about June 12th.
"It's also clear, as set forth in the indictment, that some time prior to July 8th he also learned it from somebody else working in the Vice President's Office."
With the exception of Tenet, the spotlight is on the WH/PNAC Glee Club of Bolton, Cheney, and Wurmser.

3. Cooper's already published that on July 11 Rover told him Wilson's wife |
|
worked at the Agency and was responsible for his trip. This was the story they were peddling. Cooper's article on what he told the grand jury appeared in Time shortly after he testified, so no secret.
Still want to know, who was Novak's original source? He did talk to Rove but supposedly after someone already told him about Plame.

4. CNN legal experts are spinning bullshit!!! |
|
They say Fitzgerald will keep his case strictly focused on Libby's lies, while the defense will try to confuse and overwhelm the jury by bringing in a shit load of political evidence surrounding the case.
This doesn't make sense to me. Cheney must hide the deceit he peddled to Congress while selling his war. If Libby's lawyers intentionally widen the scope of this trial by admitting "behind the scenes" evidence, Fitzgerald can use this to probe deeper into the possible motives behind Libby's lies. He will be able to cross-examine Cheney/Rove/Bush with even more freedom than otherwise.
These CNN experts forget that this is no ordinary criminal trial. There will be mind boggling political ramifications if Fitzgerald himself gets to the bottom of this Cheney orchestrated illegal war. The only way Cheney will be able to hide the deceit behind his war is by lying under oath repeatedly. Eventually, like all liars, he will trip himself up when his lies start to contradict themselves.
Cheney and Libby could potentially be charged with high treason for intentionally selling Congress their phony case for war. That prospect must chill the bones of every Republican in office.
:woohoo:
