Libby is enough for today |
|
I am thrilled that the system--even if for a brief fleeting moment--seemed to work today. It is the first justice I have seen in many years. For that, I am grateful. I don't think this is over though. I think that the "cat and mouse" game has begun. Fitzgerald drew his line in the sand today and said "I mean business here". No good card player puts all of his cards on the table until the hand is finished. Knowing what the score is and being able to prove what the score is are entirely two different things. A smart man would never tip his hand, and Fitzgerald IS a smart man. It's time for patience and being thankful when we see something work and not being greedy when we can't have our plate filled at once.

1. This is where we all learn that patience really is a virtue |

He said himself that this is NOT over, and he won't stop until it is. I believe him.

2. I think it's over unless Libby cuts a deal |

and gives up Cheney.
Hardly a shining moment for one Patrick Fitzgerald.
Don't say I didn't tell you so.

we'll just agree to disagree. It was a shining moment in an era of darkness. I would have loved to see the entire cabal to be frogmarched out of the WH today...however, reality sets in and says that isn't possible. We are still a country at war in two countries and we would be too vulnerable with that type of shakeup. We must tread carefully. Dick Cheney will be the next to go down. We will have another VP installed. They are dotting the i's and crossing the t's. Whoever that VP is, will be our next President. I believe that the ammunition to take down the entire administration is there. I believe the only "deals" that have been cut have been cut so that this administration can get their house in order to turn it over to a new administration for the good of the country. Bush will be allowed to resign gracefully. I believe he will go uncharged--but for that, he will have to give up his Presidency.

I'm not convinced.
But who knows? You may be right. One tiny moan though. If Bush resigns - it won't be for the good of the country - it will be for the good of the Empire. After all, hasn't he basically accomplished his task.
I would say to you: "think about it." But I suspect you already have.

Between Bush and Cheney...Cheney is the most dangerous. Bush is only a figurehead so to speak. However...the symbolism of Bush stepping down will be devastating to the sheeple, but beneficial to the empire. My fear initially was that Bush would step down and they would install Cheney at the reins...this has at least prevented that.

and this prevents the Empire from spinning even more wildly out of control - to the detriment of itself and the rest of us.

We are now in a process which will continue over the next several years. I read on another thread that Rove turned over new info at the 11th hour. Wonder what it is and where it will lead? Also, don't forget the AIPAC scandal which is still ongoing and which FitzG and McNulty are collaborating on. And Abramoff is in the wings. We've all been so hungry for the egregiousness of this admin to be ended, justice to be served. We wanted all the cards to fall at once, all at the same time. But I think the process is going to be one card removed at a time. The blessing is the whole thing has finally begun.

Folks should read the indictment, because the way I see it, it wasn't just Libby who was implicated today.
