I am getting the impression that Fitz is NOT going to get involved
with the forged documents. Was away all afternoon and am now catching up. What are everybody else's thoughts?

1. I think we won't know until Libby either is convicted or pleas and until
Plames lawsuit against the WH how that will turn out. I have a feeling it will be addressed with one or the other maybe both.

2. I agree. At least not right now.
He could stay on that info as part of another case.

4. I think he will...in time. I think he is giving the GOP a lesson in how
a Grand Jury investigation is supposed to be run. Piece by piece, carefully, and with no leaks to the press as Mr Starr was so good at.

6. What are you basing that on?
Everything seems to indicate that Fitz will continue, and those docs are really at the heart of this. I don't see how they can't be part of the investigation.

7. I read this earlier in another thread--it took me awhile to find it-
snip>

Some Republicans have accused Fitzgerald of being overzealous by pursuing "legal technicalities" instead of the underlying crime. Libby was not charged with illegally disclosing the name of a covert CIA operative.

"I'll be blunt," Fitzgerald said in response. "That talking point won't fly."

He also sought to distance the indictment from the growing national debate over the Iraq war, saying the issue was whether "Libby lied or not" and not whether "the war was justified or unjustified."
