Two comments we continually hear about this administration are:
Bush isn't really running things. It's a) Cheney, or b) Rove
I would expect, if that's true, that there should be some animosity between Cheney and Rove, if they are both jockeying for the power position.
Is this true?
How does this impact the current situation re: Plame outing?

1. Yes, we've been hearing a lot lately ... |
|
... about the competitive animosity between these two. Only rumours, of course, but it would make sense. No one wants to co-captain the running of the country.
And this is just another thing that will, IMHO, be the undoing of this administration -- Cheney and Rove each intent on seeing the other one 'out of commission', permanently.
I'm patiently watching for more 'leaks' to come out of this WH -- i.e. rumours that Cheney was the one, rumours that Rove was the one --each started by the other.
I think there's going to be quite a dogfight happening in ol' DC in the weeks to come.

2. Rove is the John Gotti. Cheney is the Don of Don's. |

I think it's a no contest. Cheney is busy setting up Rove for a slam dunk. He, KR, won't know what hit him. Cheney is both smart and viscious. Rove is just a fat asshole who breaks all the rules, even rules people don't know about, and then looks like he's smart. Hey, if you give me control of the three main voting systems companies, the ones that tabulate almost all the votes, my party will win all the time.
I'm betting on Cheney in the short term unless Fitz gets him first.
Fitz is the wild card, an honest man with a mission. Watch out.

3. This may be wishful thinking on behalf of Republicans.... |

from what I can see, either they all go down, or this whole case gets swept under the rug. Libby was Cheney's Cheney. Rove is also ever so close to being indicted. This can only mean one thing: conspiracy.

5. Simple: Rove runs domestic policy, Cheney runs foreign. |
|
Neither Rove or Cheney will ever turn on each other. They each know they've got too much dirty laundry. It's mutual assured destruction.

6. Rove is Fredo, but Cheney is Vito Corleone. |

Get rid of Cheney. He's the stronger of the two.
