Scooter's extenuating circumstances(kids)means he'll walk.
Edited on Sat Oct-29-05 07:34 PM by Hubert Flottz
That's right...Scooter has little tiny kids...The GOPers on TV say not to be hard on Scooter, because he's a family man who loves his kids. They think it would be VERY cruel, to split up that happy family, over this trivial matter of outing Valerie Plame. Wouldn't community service for a week or two, be enough punishment for this man with family values, they ask?

How many Kids have dads and moms that won't ever be coming back from Iraq? Parents who loved their little kids just as much as Scooter cares for his kids. Parents who's only crime was serving their country in the armed forces, in order to feed those kids. Parents who died over Scooter and his co-conspirator's Lies. It doesn't look like Scooter cared about those people who died for his lies, at all. The only thing that worried Scooter about the whole Iraqi war, was his getting caught "Selling" it. The only kids who REALLY matter to the GOP, is the Haves and the Have More's kids.

Those people who uphold the neocons, the haves and the have mores are about as low down as human beings can get, but we owe them compassion? I say the type of compassion they extend to the poor is the very kind they deserve. ZERO Compassion in other words.

He's a Republican (appointed by Raygun and Dubya), but he is not known to be a defendant's judge.

It's OK to lie and obstruct justice to send other people's kids to die in an illegal war? Fuck Libby. Jailing him might be a better lesson for the kids than his example has been.

I do feel for the kids as I would for any child who lost or will lose a parent. They're the ones suffering.

I have no compassion for Libby and it's even less for the pain he has brought onto his family and thousands of others.

20. What a waste the war in Iraq is.
What evil people are running our country. To think that the people from the churches were stupid enough to support Bush, not once, but twice and are still on his side. Where is the morality they claim to represent?

Sometimes I get really down hearted thinking about what has been done to our country. I don't understand how so many Americans could be so ignorant. How could they have wanted more of this? They really don't care, is the only answer I can come up with, other than greed. I just get tired of being so sad so often. I try not to think about it, but I can't stop myself.

The crack about Libby's kids went through me like a knife.

But that's the Italians. IMO, the Protestant Mafia has no integrity whatsoever. Bush demands loyalty but can't be expected to return it.

preacher. He told me today, that none of the people from his church have been to see him and he cried. His little church has grown and in the process, the people there decided to get another, "better" preacher last year, when my friend first found out that he had cancer. The new preacher was standing up in church and telling those people to vote for Bush, so he(my friend)quit going there. Things like this, are the reason I quit going to church years ago. I think I can be a better person than that new preacher, right here at home.

said on TV.

They just keep lying and lying and lying. They are in so far now, that all they can do in lie and cover up the truth. They damned sure don't feel sorrow or remorse about their crimes. They only ever feel sorrow or remorse when it catches up with them. The talking heads remind me of a fox in a trap, chewing it's own leg off to get away.

Who the hell cares? I don't.

Let this man rot in jail, and let his kids grow up without him. Let it be a lesson to everyone involved.

WTF? His kids are a consideration now?

Here's what a judge should say to that: "You should have considered them BEFORE you did xyz."

If I recall correctly, they have five-year-old twins. There is a certain element of danger working for the CIA, but damn, I'll bet Joe Wilson and their kids would like to have their wife and mother with them.

In other words, Scooter Libby's kids are more important than the kids whose mother is continuing to be victimized and imperiled by the * administration? I don't think so.

31. I'm sure that Libby loves his children and wife very much. All of us with
children can relate to that. This is a good thing for Fitz. As a father facing prison time, I couldn't imagine leaving my son when he was small to go to prison. As cold and callous as these thuugs are, I still can't fathom them not loving their kids like most of us. I think Fitz could use this to help Libby regain that memory he temporarily lost. Does Libby want to miss his kids growing or does he want them to know in the end he did the right thing for them and the country?

32. Yes... Fitz should remind Libby of what he'll miss when he has to....
spend so many years away from his children - what he'll miss in mile stones in their lives. He should also remind him of the 1.4 million dollars that is going to come from the kids' college and trust funds... of course, Libby would never think of this as a problem. He's used to putting young children into a financial deficit.

BTW Big Leaf, Welcome to the DU. We're happy to have your input. :-)
