NY Daily News Editorial: "President's Men in the crosshairs"..
Edited on Sat Oct-29-05 09:07 PM by Princess Turandot
"Vice President Cheney's closest aide, Lewis (Scooter) Libby, stands accused today of cavalierly trafficking in classified information and of then trying to cover his tracks through perjury and obstruction of justice.

As alleged, Libby's conduct represents a grievous betrayal of the national trust and stains the honor of the White House.

<snip>

Libby seems to have escaped the more serious charge of revealing a spy's identity only because the law would require Fitzgerald to prove the accused had known that Wilson was a covert agent and, with malice aforethought, wanted her role disclosed. Regardless, there is nothing at all trivial about committing perjury in an investigation with national security overtones."

<snip>

They sometimes put it well!

1. Oh, I really like the way this is put...
"cavalierly trafficking in classified information"! TRAFFICKING IN CLASSIFIED INFORMATION has great resonance, imo. I think I might just make regular use of that as defining what he did, it smacks of very serious criminal activity.

2. Yes, well,
I believe the President's Men see themselves as cavaliers. They were, after all, specially selected to help place selected values above all others. Their goal has been to elevate and protect the wealthy and to crush all those unworthies who think differently.
