This was the tag line of a spin article re: Libby is so misunderestimated.

But I thought the most interesting info is about the judge.

5. So I'm sure he will find Libby innocent and nominate Libby for
a humanitarian of the year award. Bush has succeeded in in dismantling our justice system into a political partisan system.

9. Um, if it's a trial, would it not be the jury who finds Libby guilty or
innocent?

13. You forget it's the judge who instructs the jury and makes the
calls. W has stacked the deck. We're going to have to yell and fight.

22. Yes, the judge gives the instructions, but I would not be so
so quick to assume that this guy will give Libby a pass. To illustrate (and I used the example several weeks ago on another matter): after our extremely close gubernatorial race here in Washington, Dino Rossi (republican) went to court to argue that the voting had been unfair, the recounts had been unfair, etc. Usual right wing crap, but his right under the laws in Washington. They went to a judge in Wenatchee, a very red area in this state. The just is a known conservative. Rosssi and his team thought that they were going to get a slam dunk in their favor, but the judge found that they did not not have a case, and Democrat Christine Gregoire is our governor. So, while there are plenty of crooked folks in the Bush cabal, just because someone is a conservative doesn't mean they are going to give one of their members a pass.

17. In civil court, attorneys are allowed one "peremptory challenge".
They can refuse the judge they are assigned to. Each side is allowed one challenge. I do not know how it works in Federal court.

14. It goes to a wheel. Cases are assigned one at a time to the judge
that is on point, or next in line.

Edited on Sun Oct-30-05 01:06 AM by Erika
and DeLay has backed him up. They've turned it into a partisan BS system. I will be so glad when the Gop are tossed out. With their theocratic and fascist propaganda, they have just about destroyed this country.

I think this guy will give the Bush Administration a pass.

27. Witnesses will still have to testify.............no matter what the judge
advises the jury......this is way too public for him to be one sided...at least I hope so anyway.
