All of this is about Woodward's "performance" on Larry King the other night. Did anyone else see the blatant partisanism?

“Embedded Crony”: Bob Woodward Shows His True Colors

Bob Woodward showed last night why he is the role model for a generation of morally compromised 'journalists.' He aggressively promoted his patrons' interests and, Judy-like, selectively cited government secrets. His entire career as the author of dubious political fanfic led to this moment, and it was a revealing one.

On Larry King Thursday he put in a fiercely partisan performance on behalf of the Administration that's provided content for his last two best-sellers, taking on any panelist who deviated from GOP spin.

He cited highly classified information, which raises a number of disturbing questions - including who gave it to him and why.

Then this...

Either Woodward's Lying, Or There's a New Leak Scandal

... or both. I've confirmed with national security expert Larry Johnson that Woodward couldn't possibly have the security clearance needed to read a CIA damage assessment on the Plame case, yet he claimed to know its contents on CNN the other night. Furthermore, Woodward asserted that the outing of Plame caused no serious damage, a statement Johnson and others in a position to know disagree with strongly.

Either Woodward's part of a major security breach - one that rivals Plamegate itself - or he's lying. Either way, he owes the nation an explanation.

There's no other way to read it: He's saying he knows the contents of the report, without any doubt, ambiguity, or possibility that his source is 'spinning' its contents. There is only one way that statement could be true, and that's if he'd read the report himself. But uh-oh, there are some problems with that ...

3. Woodward's Deterioration

actually saddens me. I remember seeing "All The President's Men" when I was about eleven years old and just idolizing those reporters. I read everything Woodward wrote until fairly recently. He used to write great works, especially "The Brethren" on the Supreme Court. He's a pale anti-shadow of his former self. I honestly would like to know what happened.

5. yah - me too. It's one of my top 5 movies....so, who gave him report & why

to deflect something - plame was not so undercover, blah blah blah. But why? To discredit Joe Wilson? Why? Because he revealed the niger yellowcake was crap and that there were no WMD's...this we know. But WHO gave that doc to Woodward???? That's what I wanna know.

People conspired. Every last one of them should be outed.
