Libby's Lies Derailed Leak Indictments

Listen closely to the response that Fitzgerald gave for the question about why indictments were not handed down for the actual leak.

He tired to explain to us that the grand jury is an investigation to uncover the TRUTH. When someone is not truthful to the Grand Jury it taints the proceedings and makes it impossible to bring indictments for violations of staute applicable for leaking a CIA agent's identity. The lies uncovered by Libby forced Fitzgerald to react with indictments. Had he borght other indictments they would be tainted by the ALLEGED lies from Libby. Indictments require truth, not lies.

We have to remember that the Bush administration are excellent liars. They has acended to the leadership of the most powerful nation on earth using lies. Uncovering the truth from such people is extremely difficult.

So when the talking points from the GOP say that it was a coverup of a non-crime. They are WRONG.

The coverup continues.

Libby's lies were calculated to preserve the White House for as long as possible. He coldly calculated his lies. That is why Fitzgerald threw the book at him. The conspiracy must be broken and this is one step in doing just that. Libby's lies are another piece of the coverup conspiracy.

Right now Libby's indictment ALLEGES he commited perjury, obstruction and making false statements. Fitzgerald said that if he is proven guilty in a court then the truth will be known then the investigation will procced.

The problem is America has a real issue with the truth. We have been lied to so much we don't understand the concept anymore. Pundits state things are facts but it is really more spin.

But we really have to look and understand from Fitzgerald's point of view what "truth" is.

For Fitzgerald "truth" is what is stated under oath and deliberated and validated by a jury in a court of law.

So until Libby is found guilty the truth in the Valerie Plame/CIA Leak investigation is in limbo.

We have a huge advantage in this whole situation. We have the truth on our side and the law. That is a very very good place to be.

So lets quell the conservative talking points with the truth. The truth is that Libby has allegedly lied to the grand jury and tainted the investigation.

Libby is a delaying tactic carefully presented to our legal system by a conspiracy of liars.

We have been right all along in this matter.

We are batting 1000. Let's fight back with concerted efforts to battle the GOP echo machine that is running overtime.

1. I agree.

What Fitz and his team of investigators say is what REALLY counts. The rest is politics and guesswork. Fitz said that he intends to prove Scooter guilty of five counts. I believe he will, at the very least, do that. Once someone lies to me it's hard for me to believe them again. Bushco and their media plants and moles, are still lying and still trying to cover up their lies. Lying and cover-up, is their modus operandi.

2. A couple of questions. . .

How long will it take to bring this to trial?

If and when he goes to trial will he be convicted?

Finally, if convicted will BushCo just go ahead and pardon him, thus ending this whole episode.

3. Excellent questions...

There was some speculation that BushCo does not want this to go to public trial. IT will result in Bush, Cheney and Rove taking the stand and clearly under oath in a public visable forum. That will tear the administration apart.


Libby will try to plead but I suspect thatthe only way for him to plead is to turn states evidence and implicate others in broader more serious crimes effecting national security.

More is to come before the year is out. More indictments will come once LIbby's truth fullness is resolved in court.

Libby will not go to jail for 35 years...

We are talking serious crime here.

Pardon will not end....if he shows himselft to do that and attempt further coverup...congress will have no choice but to impeach.

Pardons made by a President under impeachment may not be valid. (anyone have any info on that?)
