WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney's long-time chief of staff, Lewis Libby, who resigned last week after being indicted in a CIA leak investigation, is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Thursday for an arraignment, a court official said on Monday.

Libby, indicted on charges of obstructing justice, perjury and making false statements, is expected to enter a plea of not guilty. The federal judge chosen to handle Libby's case, Reggie Walton, also could set a schedule for the filing of motions, and possibly a trial date.

2. Libby gets his day in court, but did the 2026 dead Americans?
Those who died because of this traitorous administration may never get justice for the lies that bu$hco told to get us into this.

5. This is the type of thing
that will create significant pressure for Scooter. Before last Friday, this mess was something that was annoying, even stressful. But it was something that he hoped an attorney could handle for him. Now it's Scooter facing Fitzgerald, man to man. And Fitzgerald has exposed Scooter as a liar in a very public way. Fitzgerald has made clear that Scooter has to go to prison now. This court date will be difficult for Scooter.

10. I hope there's a throng of noisy reporters outside, but
of course Cowboy Irving will get special treatment and either he'll be smuggled in through the judges' secure underground parking bunker (all federal courthouses have something similar), or Bush fascist goons will keep the reporters hemmed in a mile away.
