Don't gloat yet. After two years only 1 indictment. Not much when you
consider all the damage that was done. 1000 steps toward fascism and 2 steps back. At this rate we all will be goose-steping by 2008.

12. Patience my ass, we are loosing the fight against fascism, or haven't you
noticed. Bush has three more years with the backing of the repub controlled congress and judiciary. Bless Fitz, I am glad he is continuing, but it will take much more to turn the tide. Your quote: "we have not yet begun to fight". What the hell are "we" waiting for?
The next disaster, maybe bird flu, or sooner or later, Bush will initiate martial law. Then what are you going to do? Blog. Sorry to take this out on you, but i think we are farther gone than most think. For example, it would take a generation to recover the money Bush has squandered. And that is if we had a favorable congress.

32. I have noticed, but I don't expect to turn everything around
in one fell swoop. This is the start. I realize we need a lot more to happen, but it took a long time for us to get to where we are and it's going to take even longer to turn it back around on all fronts. I'm not happy about it, but there's not much I, or you, or most of us, can do about it. Let's see what happens when Fitz finishes the job. It may not come to what we want or it may come to more than we ever dreamed possible. We just have to be patient, as I said.

We have to work for the 2006 elections and hopefully take back the House and the Senate, or at least one of them. If we can't do that, it will be 2008 before we can do anything.

18. I have been patient, only to see horrible injustices. The Constitution is
being shredded. What do you see as turning this around? Will the Demo's take control of Congress in '06. I doubt it. How do you unseat all of the right wing judges? How do you pay for the soon to be trillion dollar debt? By 2008 most corporations will have dumped their pensions and health insurances. The Demo's in Congress aren't even making much of a stink. Our Country is defined by war and torture. I don't see much turning this around. Patience. It is well past time to take off the gloves.

21. Don't get me wrong, i appreciate Fitz's veracity, but in the meantime
billions of new tax breaks have been passed for the rich and billions have been cut from aide to middle class and poor. Workers are loosing their pensions, etc. We need to not only keep the pressure on, but step up the pace. We desperately need to get some Demo leaders on the sides of the grass-root Demo's. If we can't get big money out of politics, then all is lost.

22. Um..it was five indictments
And Libby could get 30 years. He tried to cut a deal but Fitz wouldn't offer anything that avoided real jail time. He's waiting to see if Libby will cut a deal and testify against others to reduce his sentence. Be patient. Fitz is only asking for indictments on cases that are airtight, and he needs a little more to make the charges against Rove (or others) stick.

34. Rick, it only took 65 indictments before Fitz nailed Illinois Gov. Ryan
and if I'm not mistaken, he started out slow and low in the food chain in that case as well.

By the way, Ryan was listed in the text of indictments 1 through 65 as "Official A." Do you see a parallel here?

37. The first in over 135 years. No - not a big deal at all.
They investigated Clinton for 8 years and - NOTHING to show for it. No indictments, No charges. NOTHING.

IN FACT, THOSE INVESTIGATIONS PROVED THAT CLINTON WAS ONE OF THE MOST HONEST ADMINISTRATIONS IN HISTORY. Remember that.

This is the FIRST and only investigation and it HITS PAYDIRT ON IT'S FIRST TIME OUT OF THE GATE!

Yeah.

No big deal at all.

And don't forget, the only reason that MORE hasn't come out is because ONE OF THE CHARGES IS THE OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE - they didn't get more information BECAUSE THESE REPUKE CRIMINALS WERE ACTIVELY OBSTRUCTING THE INVESTIGATIONS THEMSELVES!

But no big deal, right?!!!!

41. look 2 years ago in july 2003 hardly any media did any stories on this
many of us were doing media blitzes on aol msn and all over the internet...we could get no media to do one story on it..then finally when the ag got involved in sept 2003 still no media.only alternative media..no msm would touch it even when we shut their email and fax machines down!..many of us worked this story..wtf can we do with no media?? same with dsm..nada...10 weeks before usa media touched it..i was in paris and it was all over the front pages..and nothing here..nothing!

until enough people in this country get pissed off enough to turn their tv's off completely...nothing will change this...

i stood with a whole houseful of people a week ago and i told all about this..and people were rolling their eyes..they could care less...( i didn't give a shit) ..but the eyes were rolling and people were walking away..and i begged that they pay attention...and still the eyes all rolled...

unfortunately..we have the laziest society in the world with current affairs..or affairs of the state..unless it hits each individual in their own pocket..people didn't get pissed anywhere about anything until gas prices went to $3.00 a gallon ...unless they are like us ..the enlightened...

if you had tried to tell this story 2 years ago..you were a conspiracy theorist..because anyone you told it to didn't see it on msm..it didnt happen!

its frustrating yes...but today more people than ever are talking about it..and all of us who have tried to enlighten people are finally having those people come back to us..saying..wow you were right...you were right all along...yes its slow..but the machine we are up against is very powerful...

so do we give up..or do we keep fighting..we can't fight without hope...we must hope fitz will get more of these bastards...we must never give up hope or our fight..we must all get on our phones and call congress and get all over these sob's to vote against this supreme court nominee...we must keep fighting we must organize..we must start getting really pissed and go after the dems..to start growing balls.,.,.and start working for us..now!!

and support every dem who is out there fighting this...and we must get more vocal everywhere we go...speak up even if its not your forte...don't let people shut you up...be rude if you have to...but start speaking up everywhere...grocery store, gym..talk loud so others hear you...you will be surprised how many people feel as we do but are afraid to say it out loud...

but whatever you do..do not give up hope...and do not give up this fight...we "have" come a long way in the past 2 years...but we have still a hell of a fight ahead of us...

and i for one am not ready or willing to give up..or to say ..we are screwed , because the minute we do that ..we loose forever...i will be damned if i will ever give up this fight...this is the fight of our lifetimes...and for our nation..and no one will get me to shut up..or shrink away from this fight...

its my country...and fuck anyone who thinks they are going to steal it without a fight from me!

i will continue to hope fitz gets all these bastards...its that hope that keeps me going!

besides i think he is a pit bull..and i know he has more up his sleeves!!..he is going to get them..and what he doesn't i am sure the cia will!

30. rhett o rick, please Google Patrick J. Fitzgerald
Read up on his career. It seems the flood of indictments in every case starts with a single one. I'd rather he be patient, gather his facts and his evidence to make an airtight case, than charge the entire bunch of them and have the whole thing fall apart later.

Ask former Illinois Governor Ryan, for instance, how he feels about Patrick Fitzgerald. The former Governor was just indicted a few days ago, and is the 66th person to receive his paperwork in the current investigation.

36. To be fair, I've not seen gloating taking place
I've seen expressions of happiness over the indictment of a senior WH official from this corrupt Admin.

Some joy over the fact that there is someone out there seeking justice in this case.

I've seen hope that this could lead to more should Libby decide that telling the truth about this would be preferable to spending the next few decades behind bars.

I've seen several DUers trying to help focus others as to what we need to do next. (hint: Hold this Administration responsible.)

However, gloating I've not been seeing much.
