WHO CARES WHETHER YOU "GIVE A F*" WHAT I THINK

your words represent YOU as a person very CLEARLY

and if you wanted to restrict it to ONLY people from New York you should have said so, or posted it in the NY forum

For you to come in the thread to dismiss our election altogether was offensive enough. To tell me where to post is beyond the pale. You sound like a DNC hack who thinks in strategeries rather than people's lives. Today it's election day, it's kinda important if you don't mind.

3. Doing my best here.
I'm not thrilled with Ferrer but I'm voting for him. I find Bloomberg's attitude towards freedom of speech and assembly to be downright creepy.

the bastard would be out his big bucks notwithstanding.

16. I was in the big march...
the televised one where the police were very cautious (and I still didn't like seeing 4 foot long automatic weapons). If I had taken part in one of the later protests, or had just been on the street when the police swept people up, that could have been me on that bus depot floor....and I resent it in my civic soul.

4. Ferrer ran a horrible campaign..
It seems as though he wanted people to vote for him simply because he was not Bloomberg. He hardly ever came out with ideas of what he would change in this city, and he didn't, at least to me, explain why I shouldn't vote for Bloomberg.

With that said, I will still most likely vote for Ferrer because he is the Democrat, but I am not excited about him at all.

5. Bloomberg spent 100 million dollars & scared donors from Ferrer
Ferrer is guilty of installing Bloomberg in the first place - but to criticize his campaign when this kind of monet and ganster tactics are displayed is a bit deluded. Anyway, I voted for Kerry, at least Ferrer opposes war....

I'm guilty. I had no money to give to any campaign this year.

But if you have no money as a challenger in NY, no one is interested in you.

10. You are not guilty. Grassroots couldn't match Bloomberg's obscene
spending. And after his betrayal in 2001, Ferrer didn't deserve grassroots anyway. At this point, we can only vote.

7. A year ago, his fate was uncertain.
A year ago, he was the Republican Convention/West Side Stadium mayor. Sometime last spring, after he lost in the stadium battle, the media started letting him slide and he's been sliding by ever since.

13. I pulled the lever for Ferrer
I can't say I'm thrilled or even hopeful, but I'll either put FF over the top or cut MBs margin by one. The radio predicted a moderate to heavy turnout. In my very Hispanic neighborhood at 7:30 this morning, it was quiet when I walked in but looked busier when I left.

If Freddy wins, I wish him well. If he loses, I wish him well bur also hope it ends the party's commitment to him. True, he didn't have a lot of money, but he could have shown his face around the neighborhood, too.

I think the local dems have forgotten how to run a grass roots campaign. Unfortunately, they're still in charge.

Hope your day goes well, RobbedVoter.

14. Polling station was empty when I went
I have seen bigger turnouts for Dem primaries. Literally walked right to the booth, no lines on any of them, more poll workers than voters by far.

I calculated that Bloomberg was spending about $30 per vote ($100-million / 3 million votes) but if this morning was any indication turnout is the lightest I have ever seen in a Mayor's race here, it will be more like $100 per vote.

If every one that gave money to Bloomberg's campaign turns out to vote for him, he will receive 1 vote -- his own.

giving leaflets for Bloomberg than inside, voting.

18. Ferrer is a moron
Edited on Tue Nov-08-05 05:25 PM by jzodda
I mean could you run possibly a worse campaign then he ran? 4 years ago I thought he couldn't screw up any worse but I was wrong. I mean come on! In a city of 8 million people with the Dems outnumbering the Repubs like 5-1 we could not get anybody better to run? Amazing.

He is going to lose by over 20 points, and he deserves to. He did VERY little to bring attention to his campaign. Regardless of how much money the other guy had, Ferrer could not generate ANY excitement in the Dem party. Many of the big Dem donors were giving to the OTHER side. That should tell you something. Ferrer could not generate any excitement and had no real vision on where he wanted to take this city. A terrible campaign-one of the worst I have seen run in a long time and I have watched many very close and worked with some over the years.

23. I'll tell you what we deserve
Good Candidates

End of Story

But..NYC Dem Party never plays by those rules...Its all cronyism and connections that determines who runs. Bloomberg has about as much vision and personality as a doorknob and yet he is going to win by more then 20 points in a city where hes politically outnumbered 5-1

took care of that.
Anyway, we shouldn't have to settle for Bloomberg.

Bloomberg turned NYC into a police state when I marched to protest during the Repuke convention.
He has done absolutely nothing for the average NYC resident! His constituency is exactly the same as Bush's..millionaires and big business.

That toon says it all..and says it perfectly.

The people in this city are being duped if they vote for Bloomberg...no matter how bad Ferrer is, he is not Bloomberg!
