Message to all voters: DO NOT USE TOUCHSCREENS
That goes double for any touchscreen made by Diebold or ES&S. The GAO released a study recently that proves they're no damn good. Demand paper ballots only from your polling officials.

1. Yes, but would our wishes be honored, derby?
If I demand when I go to vote, and they say 'no', I'm back to where I started.

2. If nothing else...
...it tells the election officials you don't trust the machines, and therefore you don't trust the system.

When I told the poll worker in 2004 I wanted a paper receipt of my vote, she looked at me as though she were in a daze. I think some of them actually don't know how much trouble these machines cause.

6. Who exactly are "them"?
The elderly woman who's just volunteering to hand out ballots and check registrations? You really need to hassle that person to prove a point?

3. Every single voter in GA would have to vote absentee
in order to avoid Diebold. I'm not sure if absentee ballots are always counted. If all Democrats voted absentee then the Republicans would refuse to count our votes.

5. Absentee Voting tends to increase "turnout"
I don't know how they could tell the difference between a DEM absentee vote and a REP absentee vote.

4. That's a great message for election day!
What do you expect us to do? Not vote?

There are no alternatives.

Luckily my polling place has Scan-tron's.
