Fineman: Bush is "a homebody by nature"
http://www.presstitutes.com/presstitutes/2005/11/translating_how.html

Howard Fineman, a man who never met a Bush storyline he didn't like, is one of the great purveyors of Beltway-generated Bush narratives.

Read this touching little intro to Fineman's piece about Karl Rove: "A homebody by nature, and often unsteady in unscripted public situations, George W. Bush is no fan of high-profile presidential travel."

Here's the passage, rewritten to reflect reality: "A philistine by nature, and often a bumbling embarrassment to the nation in unscripted public situations, George W. Bush can't be bothered with high-profile presidential travel."

1. I've heard Fineman say some highly
critical things of Bush on Hardball. I don't think he is a presstitute, really.

This sounds like a pretty puffy piece, though.

2. Fineman is just another media whore.
He blows in the wind like Tweety.

24. They just want to be on the side that's winning
In the immortal words of Mr. Dylan. Describes most of the press corps, I think.

3. he plays the same ping pong game Tweety does.
I can't stand his smug little expression and desperately arching eyebrows, like he's always trying to look like an intriguing character in an Agatha Christie tv movie.

14. I'll agree with that. You never know what side is is going to come
down on. When the "ill winds" are blowing for Bush, he's in there with the lot of them. But I will agree he often has a mitigating word or two to say. In short, he's quite a politician.

Fineman has been one of the many opinion-making journalists who have helped push all the usual Bush storylines over the past five years. His "criticisms" are typically watered-down versions of "Bush has been poorly served" or "Bush has lost his swagger."

As far as I'm concerned, people like Fineman, who hold a position of trust with the public, could have told the truth about Bush long ago ... and didn't.

6. Delusions of fairness
Some people really don't deserve to have a decent word said about them. I've only met one or two of them in my lifetime, but they do exist. Bush is another. Fineman doesn't get that, and some others in the media either. That's why we keep getting this crap, at least from some, like Fineman. Others are whores, like Matthews. And others are just empty-heads.

If this guy wasn't born rich, he'd be bum in the gutter with an empty bottle of Mad Dog in his unconscious hands.

Also, the Beatles might have something to say about bush:

"He's a real nowhere man ..."

7. BS! Bush loves being president, except for the work part.
He loves the travel, the worshipping hand picked crowd, the ability to put down and demean anybody else in the room. He loves being able to stride purposefully across lawn. He loves being the captain of the winning team.

It's the work he hates, and actually facing the american people who wonder why he isn't doing his job.

11. I only listen to Fineman when he is on Countdown.
Otherwise, he's intolerable. I think when he's with KO, he knows the WH spin bull$hit will not be tolerated.

Why the FUCK would you want a President who is a homebody by nature and unsteady in unscripted public situations?

That should have been his campaign slogan.

18. What a blessing
it would have been if he had stayed home. Imagine how much better off the world would be if he had never quit drinking, just stayed home and stayed drunk in his room.

Guess not. The country being visited has to shut down 25 mile radius from him. See-cure-i-tee! Or is it to contain the stink of pResidential Fear?
