Is it just me, or did Bush give a CAMPAIGN speech today?
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 07:16 PM by LittleClarkie
I hear Rush and others talking about how the Dems keep railing against Bush as if they will be running against him again or something.

So what was the big idea of mentioning John Kerry in an Iraq speech today. You're not running against John Kerry anymore, George. What are you trying to do, George, revisit the scene of your last real "victory", if it could be called that?

So a few days ago we hear about the great Republican pushback that is being planned by the GOP strategists. And all Bush can come out with is "Stay the Course", "Whatever it takes" and "John Kerry is a flip flopper"?

Reid bitch slaps the Senate Republicans into restarting the Iraq intelligence investigation again, the House GOP just fell apart over the spending bill, even after ANWR was pulled, we just had significant wins in Virginia, New Jersey, and I have to add Dover, PA, and all they can think of to do is have George come out and essentially give a DAMN CAMPAIGN SPEECH, complete with those poor soldier/props?!

I haven't seen the damn thing. I only know what I've read here and on Kos about his speech. Do I have it right? Is that what he just did?

And then the AP comes out with their "Bush is oh so strong" article, complete with "John Kerry, the flip flopper loser from the last election who voted for the war before he voted against it, responded to Bush's speech with...etc."

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?! How appropriate for Veterans Day that I should be having flashbacks of last year's race. I mean, good GOD. As Mohammed Ali would say, IS THAT ALL YOU GOT!?

Okay, rant mode off. Well, what do you think? On the mark, or talking out my butt.

1. Right on the mark, as usual

Why is Bush so scared of Kerry, I wonder? I guess if I'd stolen someone else's job and was doing a really bad job of it, I'd be scared, too.

2. One would think he wouldn't want to bring up Kerry. Ever mention his name
even. If Kerry had been allowed the election he won, Chimpy would be facing major investigations of his own making. Kerry investigated BCCI and Iran/Contra. Is it any wonder that Kerry had to be 'defeated'?

3. I know. They must have been desperate to make sure he was
But do you think that maybe Kerry's recent call to withdraw the troops is the reason Bush felt like including him in his speech? Why would he feel he has to reply to his former rival?

It was just kinda weird.

8. I didn't listen to his speech and I don't even want to imagine being
inside his head, or even try to decipher his *thought* process about anything. :scared: Sounds like bush** was on the defensive, but when isn't he? And for good reason. He's either trying to sell one of his f**k up policies meant to screw most Americans, or he's giving some speech, trying to defend his war on Iraq and *terra*! The guy's a mental midget.

4. Did he bash a decorated war veteran on Vet's Day?
Instead of praising Veterans today - did the deserter actually use today to poor mouth the real president of the U.S. - and on my birthday! I'm a vet. This time it's personal.
And just yesterday they screwed us again...hard.

13. Happy Birthday! He pretty much repeated campaign crap
about how Kerry thought we should hold Hussein accountable too, and that the Democrats shouldn't rewrite history as to how the war began, with bi-partisan support.

Here's that quote. I can't find the bit where he talks about Kerry for some reason. I need a transcript, but can't find it. But here's one part:

"When I made the decision to remove Saddam Hussein from power, Congress approved it with strong, bipartisan support," the president said. "While it's perfectly legitimate to criticize my decision or the conduct of the war, it is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how that war began."

Support that HE HAD TO LIE TO GET! That just about gives me a migraine. If Bush had been honest about why he wanted to invade Iraq, and then he got bi-partisan support, he'd have a leg to stand on. But no, he lied, and said their were WMD's. And he's STILL lying, and pointing fingers at the Dems as if to say "If I'm going down, I'm taking you with me!"

Sure, Kerry thought we should hold Hussein accountable, by getting the damned inspectors back in.

Gah!!

6. Wouldn't face another crowd 'til they told him he's running for 2006
Even the banner looked like a campaign sign.

He's THAT out of it. He's ready for his close-up, Mister DeMille.

Katrina proved that.

the policy arm was governed by the political arm. I think all they really know how to do is campaign. How pathetic.
