WSU student claims discrimination because of conservative views
Ed Swan considers himself a basic social conservative, opposed to gay marriage, affirmative action and the notion that affluent white men are responsible for a lot of social injustice.

The Washington State University student also opposes abortion and wrote "diversity is perversity" in the margins of a textbook.

Swan's attitude prompted his professors in the WSU College of Education to order him into diversity training, and almost caused Swan, 42, to be kicked out of the teacher training program.

He fought back by contacting the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, a Philadelphia-based group that battles political correctness at universities.

7. It's scary to know who teaches our children
I lost my best friend because he agreed too highly with his 'great' conservative social studies teacher. I saw a good kid with a good mind gradually become as sociopathic and selfish as any neocon. He used to be a good guy...this propoganda undoes kids from the inside.

My grandfather (whom I have no real love for) is a teacher. Guess what his teaching degree is? Nothing. He has a business degree. Where did he formerly work?

As a head manager of exxon. What does he teach the kids? I know this man. He shouldn't be allowed in public, let alone teaching kids. But the kids love him. You get a bit of charisma and you can teach them whatever you want...

This man wouldn't be the first or last. It's depressing to think about...

9. I am a teacher
26 years now.

The principle that we are all taught is that our role is to teach kids HOW to think, not WHAT to believe. If all teachers abided by that, we wouldn't have these problems.

2. Just because
you're paranoid doesn't mean the world isn't out to get you.

Ed, needs an understanding therapist, that's all.

10. I'm ashamed to admit this idiot went to the same high school I did.
I don't know the guy, but I definitely recognize the name. His dad was also a teacher. Don't recall him talking politics in class, thank God!
