Whats Chalabi doing in Washington? Lining up a coup.
Edited on Sat Nov-12-05 08:18 PM by sheeptramp
Apparently lining up a coup

http://www.iimcr.org/blog/index.cfm

Excerpt:
Aides to Iraq’s current vice-president Adel Adbul Mahdi cannot believe that the Bush administration would overlook the will of the Iraqi people and stuff a fellow like Chalabi down the throats of Iraq’s voters. They are so worried about Chalabi that they say privately they have no doubt that he might order Mahdi’s assassination if he could get away with it, even though Mahdi is well-protected twenty-four hours a day by U.S. Special Forces.
(snip)

“Mahdi’s still thinks the United States supervises democratic elections abroad,” laughs a well-placed member of the U.S. intelligence community. “We have too much at stake to leave leadership decisions to the will of the Iraqi people.”

2. my husband and i were out having lunch talking-arguing about
politics and he said "they never should have listened to that chalabi guy" i then asked my husband if he knew how much the government was paying him for information. he was quite shocked when i told him it was $325,000 a month. for that kind of money he made up a lot of information. he's not to be trusted.

3. What? Where does the $325K
come from? What is it for? I can't believe the guy was allowed into the country. After all, they turned back Cat Stephens.

12. Ah--in the early '90's
thru the CIA. Thanks. I saw what sickened me in the Voice article: looks like he doesn't need any chump or chimp change now.

16. Some great quotes
snip...

"This President, amongst the many mistakes that he has made, squandered almost $40 million in waste, fraud and abuse, taking the money from American taxpayers and giving it to this fellow that he told us was going to be the ``Spartacus of Iraq.'' We were told by the Vice President that we would be welcomed as liberators, with rose petals, and that this administration believed with Richard Pearl and DICK CHENEY and the whole group of them and Paul Wolfowitz, we have heard them described as the neo-cons. They are neo-cons, and they allowed Mr. Chalabi to con this administration out of $40 million, and we have not got a penny back."

snip...

" Now the administration, just to make sure people understand what happened here, Mr. Chalabi and his allies gave phony information about weapons of mass destruction. The neo-cons in the White House and the Defense Department bought it hook, line and sinker. They convinced the President, who apparently did not need much convincing, that we would just send Mr. Chalabi in there and he would be, as I said, the new Spartacus of Iraq, the De Gaulle of Iraq."

snip...

Mr. INSLEE. What is so disturbing about this, at least to me, is this is almost a pattern of this administration blowing Top Secret security information. They did it through Mr. Chalabi, although perhaps unintentionally. They did it blowing the cover of a CIA agent in order to punish Joe Wilson, the ambassador who blew the whistle on the falsehood that the President gave in his State of the Union speech. Is nothing sacred? Is nothing sacred in our security information? This administration needs to be held to account."

These are only a few of the gems. It's well worth checking out.

Thanks for the link!

5. "Chalabi has charisma"
Said by Andrea Koppel on MSNBC as she described how "fun" it is to cover Chalabi. "It's easy to get an interview with him", she said. She slid past the lies he told about WMDs.
He's a crook and a thug. A hitman.

7. He's actually a Minister of the Gov't, as strange as that is. It's about $
He's lining up "reconstruction money".....I've read a couple of mentions that he is playing himself off as a hedge to Iranian interests in Iraq, but I don't know how reliable that info is.
