Petition to Fire Bill O'Reilly

You can sign this anonymously if need be.

Petition to Fire Bill O'Reilly

You can also fill out this bear -
FCC Form 475B for Obscene, Profane, and/or Indecent Material Complaint. You will need fairly detailed time and date information regarding when the show aired.

Maybe someone could post the dates and times of his offensive remarks against our country and its citizens.

3. Hey sfexpat.
<snip>
The name Geckosfeet came about as a tribute to the Hawaiian gecko. The simple fact is that geckos feet are amazing feats of natures engineering.

Covered with what are essentially thousands of tiny hair-like structures called setae, geckos feet cling to walls, ceilings and wet slippery surfaces.

Currently, I have only one functioning foot. The other one got a little smashed up about a week ago. Maybe I'll just start with one. :)

7. Hey Dave. Are you just now figuring this out? The man is a proveen
liar, he is an adulterer (but somehow the Right doesn't remember that about their own). The FCC is Republican run as well, so you can forget the petition. Nothing can be done to get him off the air except not to watch him.

I had to quit listening to Limpballs because he was bringing up feelings in me I had never really felt before. I actually felt like I could harm some people. That is how much hate that man spews out of his mouth. So I just quit listening to him. He was always making stuff up, lying, typical right-wing neocon filth.

and which O'Reilly does not at all.

12. You R 100% right frankly. I avoid all the talking heads but O'Leilly
has really stepped over the line calling for the destruction of one of America's finest cities.

Do not forget New Orleans. Half of the city is still without power. Millions have been displaced and are still living in shelters, motels etc.

15. When did he do that? Parts of New Orleans have already
become populated again as well as kids going to school (in trailers but they are going to school).

Also, some of the communities are working together and saying they are starting their rebuilding without waiting on FEMA or anyone.

What I'd like to know is where the charity money has all went and what it went for? Does anyone keep a record of this? I mean if they can lose 9 Billion in Iraq (our government), and use the excuse of bad bookkeeping, then what is a couple hundred million misplaced dollars from a charity.

28. Yes NO is slowly coming back. I was pointing out that the feds have
left NO to languish. Relief efforts by Red Cross include shelters and lots and lots of food and finding temporary housing. But many are still displaced and will be for a long time.

The Red Cross is funded only by donations. They are not affiliated with the feds. Katrina was a natural disaster and the incompetent feds cannot or will not protect and help the poor and disadvantaged.

The asshat O'Reilly said that "if he had it his way" the same thing would happen to SF if it got bombed. He would just look the other way and say "did you hear something?"

18. Okay if you are gonna recommend this for the best of
1) That petition is CRAP. It doesn't have the dates, the exact statement he made, the follow up statement he made, etc. Instead it says "Bill O'Reilly approves of Al Qaeda blowing up San Francisco's Coit Tower. He has gone too far this time. Bill must go now! "

Talk about taking him out of context!

You want to make a real petition then put some meat in it. Follow your link to the FCC complaint and it will tell you WHAT the petition needs.

2) The FCC petition form can't be filled out properly unless you have:

Date, Time, network, channel

City/state and personality

DETAILS

I have heard 3rd hand this happened--someone post the exact details and so duers can be dutiful monkeys and fill out the complaint properly.

This petition is one of the many tools at our disposal to 1) come together on this project and 2) make material our intent.

It will not get Bill O'Reilly fired. It will up the community focus AND pressure.

We can do this.

Carry on, my most marvelous DUers!

31. OK, so your point is?
From what I have heard, read and seen, the petition does not take him out of context AT ALL.

I do concede that the petition is lacking in details and is probably not an effective political tool. There is a link to the original video on Crooks and Liars but it has gone stale.

This is a better link From Media Matters with some time and date details.

<snip>
From the November 8 broadcast of Fox News' The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly:

O'REILLY: Hey, you know, if you want to ban military recruiting, fine, but I'm not going to give you another nickel of federal money. You know, if I'm the president of the United States, I walk right into Union Square, I set up my little presidential podium, and I say, "Listen, citizens of San Francisco, if you vote against military recruiting, you're not going to get another nickel in federal funds. Fine. You want to be your own country? Go right ahead."

And if Al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it. We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead.
</snip>

What is out of context? It sure seems like he is expressing a view that advocates the destruction of an American city. Am I misreading that?

To me, it seems to be hate filled incendiary rhetoric.

39. my point is that if you are gonna load up and fire
Don't look like a left wing nut doing it.

My arguement is that you need post the entire content of Bill O'Reily's statement so people who you direct to the petition can read it. . .

And you can go ahead and talk about Bill O'Reily wanting to attack american cities but most people understand sarcasm to know the context of his message.

He isn't being literal. Filing a petition to fire him based on being an asshole won't go too far.

But go ahead and focus on him -- great diversion by the right wing yahoos to fire us up about some words and ignore the actions of the real criminals.

Meanwhile mainstream america thinks "look at that--wackos on both sides--politics as usual"

41. He isn't being literal !?! OK - we did not see him pick up a phone
and call Hasim and say "bomb the tower" and see an explosion seconds later. Ar what point does the FCC draw a line between sedition and sarcasm. If an exposed breast rates national furor, I find it outrageous that O'Rielly's statements do not rate a fine from the FCC.

Yeah I am a left wing whacko. And I think Bill O'Reilly should be fired for saying what he said.

The only asshole mainstream America is watching is Bill O'Reilly. Because he is outrageous enough to say what he says. We could do with a few left wing whack jobs like that - you know - for fair and balanced.

Really - I understand what you are saying. That petition was pretty much for fun. So were most of the links. But they make statements in their own ways.

Loosen up an quit being such a stick in the mud.

38. Dave, I agree with you!
He is a bully plain & simple. There is only one way to deal with bullies...ATTACK!

His statement today that he wanted to post photo's in addition to names of the people who are protesting his antics is way too far. He even stated he wanted his listeners to see who IN THIER NIEGHBORHOOD was against them. An obvious threat & not unfounded. He will intimidate & bully any time he is under fire so worry not. We are doing exactly what needs to be done. FIRE AWAY!!
