Has anyone told Tim Russert
that there is no such thing as the "Democrat Party"?

After watching a replay of Sunday's MTP, I noticed a graphic with a banner heading: "Democrat Party". This was a listing of 16 items that people polled said they think trust Democrats more than the Republicans. It was shown during the Ken Mehlman interview.

Republican Indoctrination or Republican Sublimation?

3. I don't think Pumpkinhead does the graphics for the show
At least not until he does his cute thing with the lapboard & magic marker at election time.

4. True! He's Sr. VP and Washington Bureau Chief, NBC News
Shouldn't someone bring it to his attention when his staff is in error?

7. You're right, we should--that blatant 'rat' bullshit is what they go to
when they cannot win the war of IDEAS. And they have been OUT OF IDEAS for some time, which is why we are hearing this crap, again, and again, and again.

Childish pricks. And Timmy is their useless, chickenshit tool.

8. Unfortunately, the democrats "stood down" and allowed themselves
to be renamed.. They stood by and watched the repubes make a concerted effort to rename them, and did nothing about it. If your name is WILLIAM, and you hate the name BILLY, you correct people when they call you BILLY....unless it's the bully who beats the crap out of you every day after school..HE can call you anything he wants, because to correct him is to "ask for more"...

The odd thing is that once the repubes start some childish prank like this (remember the bandaids, the stupid chanting outside Al Gore's house, the tractor on congress steps, etc) if any democrat tried to counter it, the media then calls THEM childish and silly..

It was the place of the media to comment on the misuse of the moniker, and call THEM on it.. They did not..The media just picked it up and ran with it, and no one (to my knowledge) has said STOP IT!.

I even hear democrats who KNOW BETTER, say "the democrat senator, the democrat party"...

Republicans study this stuff down to the least minute detail..If you control the definitions, you can control an agenda..

Inheritance tax became DEATH tax
Late term therapeutic abortion became Partial BIRTH aboprtion
Payola to private Christian "academies" became VOUCHERS to help POOR people
Kickbacks to rightwing, donating churches became FAITH-BASED INITIATIVES

Using their techniques, Jack the Ripper could have been credited for "ridding the streets of prostitution"..

9. So, isn't it up to "Democrats" to stand up?
"Democrats" being us?

I completely agree with you on how they study it, parse it, focus group it, and start feeding it into the public conscience.

I also think it is time for us to be the squeaky wheel.

10. It's been going on a LONG time, and until WE regain some real power
in the house & senate, and OUR representatives are "invited' to flood the airwaves, it won't happen..

part of the problem is the Democratic vs democratic issue..

and the total lack of any concern for proper grammar on tv or in print:(

11. We need a coordinated message machine
with daily talking points and universally repeated memes such as "Culture of Corruption."
