Phone Call received at work |
|
I just received a call at my place of employment, a CPA's office, that was against same sex marriage. It was a recorded message saying basically "press (#1) if you want to stop the assault by judges who are trying to shove gay marriage down our throat." They said they would mail a petition for me to sign that would be taken to congress and the president. It was basically 30 seconds of hate speech like "If you want to protect our children from the threat of same sex marriages press #1" I didn't press any numbers just listened. I was afraid pressing a number would count as some sort of petition response.
I live in Texas and have received several of these at my home before the election, but they wanted to get me to vote for the propostion banning gay marriage. Now they are calling businesses also? They called themselves "The National Campaign to Stop Same Sex Marriage". When I googled this I didn't get anything that looked like their official website. What the hell is going on? Texas's no call list only effects residential numbers and is exempts organizations who aren't selling anything. So I guess there is nothing that can be done to stop this.

2. Can you contact the Atty General's office? |

dunno...just a thought It seems to me if there is an organization out there campaigning and trying to influence politics, it should be out in the open and easily accessible. Otherwise, it's harrassment.

4. "Don't ask don't tell" is being deemphasized in the military |

because the army needs its "boots on the ground." Strange that Texas is going against the DoD game plan of making life easier on gays. I think it was Powell who had said that the DoD was often at the forefront of major US social change, often against its own will.
