Fake teeth, Fake Tan, Fake Hair (Extensions), she's been pulled tighter than a drum....brow lift....she's a walking sex doll.

They're all - the ones I've spoken with, anyway - creeped out.

In regards to fakes ones, I mean.

It's not the real thing, but you definitely have to get used to it. Certainly better than all the crap that she's had done to her face.

I'm mad at Pam Anderson for her cruelty to all those poor, innocent implants who gave their lives so that she could sport (fake) bodacious ta-tas.

I do agree with animal rights, but I also laugh at PETA and their "If you step on an ant, you're a killer" outlook. Telling children that their parents are murderers goes way over the line for me.

so they are no longer necessary. We similarly have no need for the NAACP, the ACLU or NOW.

59. You couldn't be more wrong if you tried.
PeTA has had tons of success.

I don't necessarily always agree with their methods but I know exactly why they do things the way they do. When they announce they have graphic footage of turkeys being beaten with metal bars at a farm, everyone who eats turkey says, oh I don't want to see that! And they go on paying people to torture turkeys. But they get Pamela Anderson to go practically naked in an ad, and the Web site gets TONS of hits, yes, to see her practically naked, but most of the visitors stick around a while and get a little education while they are there.

If people didn't refuse to examine their own actions and close their eyes to the abuse, PeTA wouldn't have to do things this way.

Funny, it's ok to kill chickens and eat them, but it's wrong to be cruel to them first ?

PETA lost me when they called for a ban on fishing.

P.S. I love KFC chicken and nothing Pam Anderson does will change my mind on eating chicken. ALthough I do love those big fake breasts, women who believe men dont like big fake breasts are out of touch with reality.

18. Wow
First of all, I don't think PETA ever says it's OK to eat chickens. But given the choice, wouldn't you think it's wrong to be cruel to them even if they are going to be killed "humanely" and eaten?

Have you ever seen the video from KFC's supplier of the year slaughterhouse? It's really funny, the workers take the chickens and slam them into walls, make a pile of them and jump on them with both feet like kids playing in a puddle. All set to loud hard rock music! Yeah, PETA's the one over the line on that whole being cruel to animals thing. Really it's just good clean fun and where are we gonna get junk food from otherwise?

20. I used to work in a chicken processing plant
I worked the entire plant, from live hang to evisceration to debone to boxing up frozen meat for shipping.

1. We didn't have time to be cruel to the chickens. We had a line moving fast that needed to be filled.

2. Anyone jumping up and down on a pile of chickens would be fired on the spot. A ridiculous action. The video smells of a set-up to me.

48. Yeah
Ignore the rest of my post. I established that that sort of thing is HIGHLY unlikely to happen, and particularly unlikely to happen on a regular basis.

Yeah, in 3 years I never saw abuse. I also never saw people slack off without being fired. It's brutally hard labour that people have to do because it's simply the best job they can get.

As for your comment about child abuse, that's just ridiculous. I didn't say it doesn't ever happen. I said it's highly unlikely, to the point that the first time I saw it I was suspicious.

Chicken processing plants are very, very focused on extracting as much profit out of each bird as they can. I spent two weeks doing analysis of the process leading into evisceration trying to determine how to reduce the number of broken wings.

My job for 18 months was to to full yield analysis of each grower's birds, as well as comparing breeds and sexes, to help maximise the amount of meat from each bird.

The plant had a salvage department that did nothing but try to retrieve useful cuts of meat from otherwise damaged birds.

And an industry that does this is going to allow people to jump up and down on piles of birds? Once. Maybe. And isn't it surprising that a camera happened to be there to catch the footage...

And I'm sure you've REALLY taken the time to read through what exactly happened in the situation, and given a very unbiased look at what is on the tape. PeTA is hardly the only organization that has found documented cases of cruelty and unspeakable abuse in slaughterhouses...I suppose all these groups (hell, often news stations uncover what really goes on in slaughterhouses) are staging the torture of all these animals?

Give me a break. :eyes: The sad part is, what is NORMAL business in a slaughterhouse is unspeakable cruelty.

76. I saw the tape
How many hours have you logged in a slaughterhouse? We didn't have time for cruelty, we had a job to do. Maybe I was just at one of the good ones.

Normal business is cruelty? I suppose we should just go vegetarian, right? And then we can practise the cruelty that's involved there, where rabbits, mice, voles, and other animals are mowed down every time a field is harvested.

We're not going to convince each other, because you've decided that all killing is cruelty, and I think feeding humans a healthy diet is rather important.

46. I sometimes wonder about that,
take some footage from one incident in 1000s of hours of tape, and make it into "all plants are like this".

I feel that if they have the money to buy billboard space, more power to them. But they tend to preach to the choir, in my opinion.

30. Wrong.
Having handled my share of breasts, and having been in a group of men have as well. I can tell you this. Fake breasts are nice to look at.....kinda. But they feel WAY inferior to real ones. Also fakes seem very genric and just fall into a couple catagories for shape and image. Real breasts co0m in much more wide variety of shapes and sizes thats can not be reproduced via surgery.

Most men in the know given the chance and told that you can have a fake dd or a nice set of real c's(hell even nice perky a's and b's)will choose the smaller naturals every time.

Fake breasts are creepy! I like my softer jigglier MUCH MORE cudly naturals any day. What is visually appealing is often in fact not so appealing in physical sense.

I eat them because I'm a vegetarian but do I some how unknowingly wish to torture chickens even though what I eat isn't real chicken? Yes I boycott KFC. I can't even stand the smell of one when I drive by.

As for fake breasts, I use to work for Inemed who made breast implants and as a nudist I've seen many fake breasts. They stick up like Pikes Peak when a woman lays on her back and as she gets older, her face and body age but those breasts remain perky as her body wrinkles around them.

mainly because at least 9 of their "11 secret herbs and spices" is PEPPER.

Their "chicken" is greasy and gives me stomach cramps.

And I work in pathology, I have seen the unholy mess a ruptured silicone implant causes both inside and outside of the body.

55. Ineffectual?
Wrong (but you knew that, didn't you).

Historic Cases
PETA has been responsible for such breakthroughs as the closure of the largest horse-slaughter operation in the United States, the shut-down of a military laboratory where animals were shot, and stopping the use of cats and dogs in all wound laboratories. USAToday.com reported, “Could we imagine a world without PETA? ... he organization has inspired a few people to take action instead of lounging in their living rooms, wondering who let the dogs out.”(1)

Other major accomplishments:

• PETA first uncovered the abuse of animals in experiments in 1981, launching the precedent-setting “Silver Spring monkeys” case. This resulted in the first arrest and criminal conviction of an animal experimenter in the United States on charges of cruelty to animals, the first confiscation of abused laboratory animals, and the first U.S. Supreme Court victory for animals in laboratories.
• PETA released 70 hours of graphic videotape documenting the appalling treatment of primates at the University of Pennsylvania head-injury laboratory, resulting in government fines and the loss of funding for the cruel study.
• PETA’s undercover investigation of a huge contract testing laboratory in Philadelphia and our subsequent campaign led to Benetton’s permanent ban on animal tests—a first for a major cosmetics company. Other leading companies, such as Avon, Revlon, and Estée Lauder, followed suit. Gillette announced a moratorium on animal tests after PETA’s 10-year campaign. PETA now lists hundreds of companies that do not test products on animals.
• PETA was victorious over the General Motors Corporation, which ended crash tests on animals.
• PETA released investigators’ photographs and videotaped footage taken inside Carolina Biological Supply Company, the nation’s largest biological supply house. PETA documented animals removed from gas chambers and injected with formaldehyde without being checked for vital signs, as well as cats and rats’ struggling during embalming, and employees’ spitting on animals. The company was charged by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) with violations of the Animal Welfare Act. • With the help of celebrities like Ewan McGregor and Martin Sheen, U.S., German, and Canadian government officials, and activists worldwide, PETA was able to secure the release of polar bears who had been suffering for years in the Suarez Bros. Circus. The bears are now recovering and thriving in more appropriate climates.
• PETA distributed an undercover video showing Las Vegas casino “entertainer” Bobby Berosini beating orangutans with a metal rod. The U.S. Department of the Interior revoked Berosini’s captive-bred wildlife permit, making it illegal for Berosini to buy or sell orangutans.
• An undercover investigation of painful scabies experiments on dogs and rabbits at Ohio’s Wright State University led to charges by the USDA of 18 violations of the Animal Welfare Act. The experiments were stopped.
• PETA released undercover photographs and videotapes showing ducks being violently force-fed on a foie gras farm in New York, resulting in the first-ever police raid on a U.S. factory farm. After learning the gory details of foie gras production, many airlines and restaurants dropped the so-called “delicacy” from their menus.

lots more...

80. From pretending not to know of PETA's achievements
to an illogical cry for their disbandment. I wonder what a RealLeftieLawyer would say.

62. Do you expect people fighting child abuse to have a "sense of humor"?
Lame agenda? What should they be doing? And what do you do to make the world a little better? In my experience, people who complain about animal rights activists do little to help anyone. Are you one of those geniuses who yells at us to "get a job" or "get a life" on a Sunday when we are protesting? One of those who spends their free time at the mall?

You are of course free to feel however you want about their campaigns and you can think they are ineffective if you want, but by saying their agenda, wiping out animal cruelty, is lame, you have basically just declared yourself FOR animal cruelty. And I'm sure a warm, sensitive individual such as yourself doesn't really feel that way.

64. Animals aren't children
See?

It's a well-intentioned bunch, but they're just a little confused about who's who.

77. You're the one confused
Some of us have figured out we can have compassion for anyone who needs it, not just those who share our genetic makeup at the expense of the other 99.99999999999% of the species.

Is child abuse the only worthy cause? Should we stop working against racism or for environmental causes til that's taken care of?

56. A winner!
36 posts before the appearance of the always clever "People Eating Tasty Animals." Not a record, but an admirable effort, nonetheless.

61. You should boycott KFC for their cruelty to YOU
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 10:00 AM by alcibiades_mystery
That shit is poison. You're paying to be poisoned.

And I don't wanna hear any of the RA RA fast food people complaining about the way people respond to the obese, either. You made your bed.

63. I boycotted KFC when I realized it was shit
and that's how the employees treat their customers too.

This is just yet another reason, of course.

71. What a strange thread .... a curious blend of the most basic need (food)
and the most superficial act (breast augmentation.) In the words of Kilgore Trout: "It's a full life and a merry one."
