MURTHA-Official WH Statement by the Press Secretary
Statement by the Press Secretary

STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

Congressman Murtha is a respected veteran and politician who has a record of supporting a strong America. So it is baffling that he is endorsing the policy positions of Michael Moore and the extreme liberal wing of the Democratic party. The eve of an historic democratic election in Iraq is not the time to surrender to the terrorists. After seeing his statement, we remain baffled -- nowhere does he explain how retreating from Iraq makes America safer.

6. Yeah, didn't realize Mr. Moore was an advisor to Rep. Murtha...
or that the White House didn't roll out the ever popular "Barbara Streisand" effect. :silly:

Oh, it might be worth noting, Michael and Barbara haven't been indicted in a Federal corruption investigation.

3. It doesn't seem like they respect him.
The Bush administration has never been able to explain how going to war in Iraq and staying there is making America safer.

12. Republicans don't respect ANY veteran or soldier.
They have made that abundantly clear.

I'm so sick of their bullshit about how they are all such "tough, war-making people" and everyone else is supposedly this "pansy liberal". Next time some asshole starts that shit, I'm just gonna tell him, "Actions speak louder than words--WHO among politicians has actually served?"

5. I thought this was a joke until I went to the link.
Give me a break.... Michael Moore?? Reminds me of the 1950's when they used to name-drop Stalin. Same game, same party, only the names have changed.

Seriously, it's really pathetic to read it.

7. Michael Moore policy? Those people just don't know when to tsop
with their bullshit spin. When 57-59% of the American people think you are wrong, YOU ARE WRONG and had better start changing the way you do business...and this war IS a business for them. :grr: Those bastards are going to pay for bashing John Murtha. The people are sick of their crap.

8. Gee, they forgot Howard Dean
Isn't it usually "Michael Moore, Howard Dean and the extreme liberal wing of the Democratic Party."

I mean these guys keep regurgitating the same old statements I'm surprised they messed up on this one.

9. "We remain baffled ...
... nowhere does he explain how retreating from Iraq makes America safer."

The majority of Americans are baffled, too: "Nowhere has this Administration explained how staying in Iraq makes America safer."

P.S. To Press Secretary: I'm not asking you to disclose classified information, but is "Baffled" the WH code-name for the strategy they've been using in Iraq all along?

Just wonderin' ....
