Why Sportscasters Are More Ethical Than Newscasters
- Sportcasters never show bias for or against a certain team they're covering. Even Boomer Esiason doesn't show a preference when he's calling Bengals games. Newscasters believe balanced reporting is offering two opinions (and we all know how balanced it ends up being)

-When sportscasters give their opinion (good play, bad call); they have the evidence on video to back them up. Newscasters cherry-pick and "edit" the sount bites that fit their report.

-Sportscasters retract immediately when they make a mistake. Newscasters bury it in the memory hole.

-When an athlete breaks the rules, sportscasters call it a "penalty." When a politician breaks the rules, newscasters call it "playing politics."

Wasn't Keith Obermann a sportcaster?

1. Yeah, but so was JD Hayworth.
Guess he forgot what he learned doing that.

2. I would disagree
There's a lot of anti-west coast bias and anti-Spurrier bias on the part of many college broadcasters. That moron lee corso said, "Spurrier will not win a game at South Carolina." Then got mad when Spurrier made reference to it after SC beat Florida.
Most college sportscasters will tell you how great Ohio State and Oklahoma are, but will quickly mock Southern Cal (The USC with the longest winning streak in the nation) as a team that is overrated.
As to penalties...I suggest you watch ice hockey in overtime or pro football in the last two minutes of a game. The broadcasters want the referees to swallow their whistles.
