It's over. The local war hark editor is ready to withdraw |
|
It's rural Ohio. It's the guns and gay area. It's only a matter of time. Let's hope that it ends quickly before even more of the troops that we have supported in the right way lose their lives.
Here's today's editorial
Murtha is right – it’s time to redeploy troops
If there weren’t a (D) after his name, Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania could have delivered a death blow last week to President Bush’s approval rating.
Murtha is not a weenie, liberal, leftist or peacenik. He and John Kerry in a duck blind? My money’s on Murtha. By all accounts, he is more hawk than dove
(snip) U.S. troops continue to be targets of suicide bombers against which there is little defense. Meanwhile, the American public has grown weary of news reports, detailing the deaths of sons and daughters who were cut down far too early in their lives.
Clearly, if there is ever to be peace in Iraq, the Sunnis will have to get along with the Shiites and vice versa. And throughout the Middle East, Europe and elsewhere, moderate Muslims will have to deal strongly with their radical brothers (and now sisters).
I believe it’s time, President Bush. Let’s at least start the process.

If the republican party doesn't want to raise taxes to pay for adequate resources for the military or send their own kids off to war or pay for adequate medical care for casualties, then why did they go there?

4. covering up, and blackmail... |
|
this is where some of us cynics find ourselves shushed, even here at DU....to suspect the busheviks of crimes cooked up in hell is going too far, but basically the reason for the iraq invasion was to 'fill newstime' with stories NOT about 911, which itself happened so the news fulla stories NOT about the 2k election, which seated an illegal, unelected regime in the most powerful office on earth. Now the audacity was truly staggering, as, if the thieves got caught (or get caught, the crime's still fresh) they are in all likelihood dead men...they have no choices. ergo, whatever it takes to buy time, a day, a week, a month, a year, whatever....call this 'conspiracy theory ad nazism' that's the context that WE INVADED AN INNOCENT COUNTRY...
