Why are "benchmarks" so important for our children's education but not

for Iraqis. Why do Republicans scoff at the term "benchmarks" that show progress in Iraq and show an estimation of when Iraqis will run their own affairs and yet demand the exact opposite of our children?

3. Because they are in favor of children being graded on their progress

but, since they have little to no progress, they are less enthusiastic about being graded on their own progress.
