FEMA still doing a heck of a job.
CBS News had a story about FEMA screw-ups and incompetence from Wilma in South Florida. Trailers moved into neighborhoods, but no keys for them for 33 days with people living in tents and their cars.

Now this little gem at msnbc's website. Photo's. Maybe "Consultant Brownie can look into this.

magine our surprise when we opened a letter from FEMA on Thursday that stated:

“The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State of Mississippi have reviewed your request for disaster assistance. Listed below is our decision regarding your request. This initial determination will not preclude you from receiving future assistance.

Determination: IID- Ineligible – Insufficient Damage

Total Grant Amount: $0.00."

Ineligible because of insufficient damage? Insufficient damage? Let me get this right: Our house was completely wiped out and we have insufficient damage?

2. everyone got that letter
i think it is a computer error, i got that same letter like 2 days after filing & i seriously doubt anyone had seen my house at that point, because they were not letting anyone into the parish

i actually had a direct deposit in my bank acct abt a week after i received the letter

so it was just weird

since yr entire house was destroyed, you are going to need more than one direct deposit, but i think you should be eligible for the whole $26K in rental assistance at the minimum

don't know what to say but i'm rooting for you

fema really is like something out of kafka
