Bush Knew Marines Had Died Prior To Rose Garden Remarks, Didn’t Mention It
Think Progress: Bush Knew 10 Marines Had Died Prior To Rose Garden Remarks, Didn’t Mention It

Yesterday, 10 Marines were killed in Fallujah by a roadside bomb. President Bush knew about it before he made remarks at 10:45AM in the Rose Garden. From today’s White House press conference:

QUESTION: Can I ask, when the president came to the Rose Garden this morning about 10:45, at that hour, did the White House already know about this attack on the Marines in Fallujah?

MCCLELLAN: Yes, we did. The president was informed about the loss of the Marines last night and those that were injured, and then he was briefed again this morning.

But Bush didn’t mention it. He didn’t want to take the focus off today’s message, the “good news” about the economy.

1. I had thought about that when I first heard the bad news
about the Marines. Bush had just left and that was when the DoD made their announcement: when he had walked away (to their derisive laughter) from the podium, ignoring requests from the press corps to comment on Iraq, etc. I even told my SO this. The man is a coward, not a man.

5. What about Bush lighting the Christmas Tree this weekend,
or the sing-along? There is another thread in the LBN that shows a photo of Bush singing along with a Country&Western singer. He's crooning along with her; looks like he's having a Great Time.

You could NEVER tell that he had heard of the deaths.

But apparently it's true. The people posting wrote that Bush knew about all these deaths, and he's singing C&W songs......

6. They should ask Bush if he prefers US soldiers to die in groups of 10, or
just a few everyday. What works best for him. If they die everyday, people get used to it. The big groups of dead soldiers can be a real problem when he is trying to stay on lie.

7. NBC
reported that the Pentagon delayed releasing the news until after Bush's speech. I say bullshit!! He knew and the Pentagon is covering for his sorry ass. With the media covering him, there surely would've been questions asked that he didn't want to answer.

9. He knew about it within minutes of the tragedy but took 4 days to find out
peeps were dying/starving in NOLA....stuck in the Super Dome and Convention Center....

He had to learn whast was happening in N.O. by a DVD made by a staff member. 4 Days of dying and cryin, no toilet paper, no water, no food.

The odor was horrific....and yet....Bush was unaware....

Now...yesterday..10 good boys died, 10 marines,...and he knows within minutes....

I don't understand why it took so long for something much closer to home...Is Bush playing video games....is he still stuck on Pac Man...Doom?.....Descent?.....Planetside???

Is that man Human?
