What's the Power behind the Anti-Choice Crowd?
A. Keeping anyone who isn't in the Upper Class Down - Banning Abortion would put economic burdens on anyone who isn't rich

B. Anti-Woman - Banning Abortion will make women less free and the average woman will have less control over her destiny

C. 'Genuine' - The 'christian' Right actually believes it is fighting for God when they hurl firebombs at Women's Clinics

D. All of the Above

E. Other

1. Mostly A and B
Because if you are rich, you will not be denied an abortion if you want one.

19. Plus, a lot of them are just angry at people who have sex
They see people doing what they wanted to do, and were prevented from doing, either due to religious guilt, a butt ugly kisser, or both.

If you could get the same thrill from picking your nose, they'd probably outlaw that, and that video of the monkey would be classified as porn!

If I can't have it, NO ONE CAN. That's their motto and they are stickin' to it!

2. Benefit of the doubt
As much as I disagree with this belief, I think a lot of them truly believe that abortion is murder. If someone truly believes that, it's unlikely you're ever going to be able to convince them otherwise.

4. Tell that to Mike Scanlon and his Wackos
I won't give them that benefit.

"The wackos get their information through the Christian right, Christian radio, mail, the internet and telephone trees. Simply put, we want to bring out the wackos to vote against something and make sure the rest of the public lets the whole thing slip past them."
- Mike Scanlon, former DeLay Aide and Abramoff Buddy.

Maybe they are doing it for 'moral' reasons, but I think that there may be an ulterior motive for opposing abortion.

9. Don't confuse Mike Scanlon with the wackos
If he/they could make a buck forcing someone to have an abortion, he would. Rumor has it that the indentured servants of the Marianas Islands are forced to have abortions, and this management culture is endorsed by Abramoff, Delay, et al.

5. I say E
I prefer ProForce to ProLife because they like to force people to do what they want them to do.

15. Yup, Maintaining the fear of F@#king!!!
If you look really closely at these groups they just don't want to stop abortions. The proven way to do that is to educate kids effectively about birth control and sexuality. You have to have honest discussions with them about fucking. Absolutely NO HOLDS BARRED!

So called Pro-Life groups hate sex education more than anything going. Why would you hate the one thing proven to reduce abortions if you were pro-life? Because you are really Anti-Sex and that is not ever, ever going to be popular.

7. If polls are to believed, very few anti choice
I think most believe that restrictive laws will never be their problem: there's always a flight to New York or London, right?

8. If God is powerless to reverse Roe v. Wade...
...then God is indeed powerless. And lots of mindless drones, incapable of living in the real world, will lose their Invisible Imaginary Friend.

So they're not actually fighting for the lives of little babies, but to preserve the insane delusion that keeps them "sane." Selfishness actually.

It's a powerful tool...one that the GOP has harnessed in the last 3 elections.

10. There is no opposition - we must start picketing and protesting them.
It begins at the local church, if you stand up to a bully and bloody his nose they will go away. So am calling everyone on the left to unite organize and protest the imbellcells who want to keep me sick and crippled. Come on people nows the time stand and fight in force or be picked off one at a time. Whose with me no retreat no surrender.

13. All of the above...D
It's a shame that no one actually explains themselves in human terms, rather than regurgitating the same old sound bytes,...since no logic is apparent, I assume their motives can't survive the light of day. One woman that i had a conversation with about abortion was a rabid Jesus=freak and thought adoption was the only answer. When I questioned her knowledge of adopted and foster children, she had no alternative to the institutional life many of them will face. She was like a doll I used to have...you pull the string and it talks...but it will only say what it's programmed to.

16. It's top down. It starts from those who want power.
They rally the base and get out the vote.

The base believes in the religious aspect of it and they are more motivated than the rest of the population who don't even register to vote.

The question is who is at the very top?

Conservative billionaires who fund right wing activist groups and think tanks?

Moon, as mentioned in another thread?

A secret society like the Bilderberg group mentioned on A&E yestreday?
