Is Congress on yet another vacation, despite the fact our
country is on a downward spiral, and when we need some voices of reason out there?
Have they already departed for the rest of the year?

2. No, they're still hanging around for a couple of days
They need to get the USA PATRIOT Act extension authorized, and pass a law to open up ANWR to drilling. Then they can go home to visions of enormous oil company donations dancing in their little heads.

3. Heck, the House has left until January 31st
the republicans dumped bills on the Senate and left town. They delayed coming back into session in the hope that Delay could rejoing them ans majority leader.

4. Not yet. Senate is in session today, and both houses must
get an agreement on the appropriations bill or the Pentagon STOPS! The House members will still be in town until there's either an agreement or another extention of the current appropriations and they will take up the issue in January when they return.

I heard someone from RollCall this morning saying the Senate expects to have a final vote on Tuesday or Wed.

6. Congress: Voices of Reason?
I wonder if we could honestly associate Congress with "voices of reason"; it sure would be nice.

8. Alas...
Thanks, :hi: and alas... true enough, they (Congress) are our designated representative voices, and we even 'elect' them (supposedly:banghead:)... though perhaps there ends our influence over them, and I'm still not so sure about applying the adjective "wise", at least not to most of them().
