anyone seen the documentary "Journeys with George"?
it was made by Alexandra Pelosi (Nancy's daughter).

she followed Bush during the primaries & general election, becoming quite chummy with him (and a reporter from Newsweek).

I saw it when it premiered a few years ago, and caught it again earlier today.

as much as I despise Bush, watching the film it's sorta easy to see why people find him so likeable.

1. will never be likable to me
he is nothing but a phony and a wannabe who has had everything handed to him all of his life--including this election-I did not see this film and don't care to see it at all--he has proven himself to be an ignorant, stupid ,SOB warmongering, greedy, murderous, evil person who gives not a damn about the people in this country at all. He is the most despicable and the worst president this country has ever had destroying everything we have known to be noble and decent, caring and human. He is hated--and he deserves to be hated.

4. don't get me wrong
I'm not saying that I found him likeable… just that I can see why people inclined to support a Republican would find him likeable.

2. That was a truly illuminating documentary.
I certainly didn't find Smirky to be any more likeable after watching it, but learning about the "Bubble" was fascinating, and it's important that we all realize what a complete disservice the campaign media does us, ya know?

I can't remember his name, but the reporter from the London Financial Times, near the end of the film, said something about how the American media chooses its President for Americans, based on how much they like him.

Tragic.

5. agreed
I was also disturbed when Alexandra tried to bring up all the people who'd been executed when Bush was governor and he refused to talk about it. she then commented on how she "needs to maintain a good relationship between NBC & Bush" so she wouldn't bring it up again.

3. I saw it for the first time today and can agree with your take on the film
It was interesting to see him drinking the "near beer" (<1.5% ac) and to hear him cut Pelosi off for a time after she questioned him on his death sentence record claiming she "ambushed" him.
