Where's the outrage?
From the LA Times...

SACRAMENTO — The Bush administration took six months to evaluate Gov. Gray Davis' emergency request last spring for $430 million to clear dead trees from fire-prone areas of Southern California.

The request was finally denied Oct. 24, only hours before wildfires roared out of control in what has become the largest fire disaster in California history.

First, Bushie refuses to bail out CA in the energy crisis, which Enron was partly responsible for... then he refuses to give CA more money back to bail the state out of it's financial crisis, then this... Me thinks that CA will remain blue...

1. Has No One Noticed
I have been telling my friends in California that the Federal Government is at war with them since the 2000 election. They laugh, but lately some seem to be seeing it that way as well. It is a vindictive lot in Washington these days and California is on their shit list, make no mistake about that. They do not support those that do not support them.

3. 3 days into his Residency
he authorized the raising of energy prices for Californians so that Enron could rob them blind.
What I don't understand is why isn't everyone in that state installing solar panels and in every way trying to get free of the energy pirates?

5. Doing that would require thinking and working. Something
americans don't do much of nowadays.

6. Here's something the British have come up with

Of course the knock against these things is always that they're expensive up front. But hey, what's better: becoming less dependent on the power companies, or sitting through brownouts/blackouts while getting screwed on your bill?

4. Of course, Ahnuld is going to get financial aid to Kal-eee-for-nya
but the question should be:

"What did Bush do the other 2.5 years FOR, not TO, California?"

7. Is the WH waiting for Ahnold to take over before giving aid?
I can't believe we couldn't find a few army transport helicopters to help douse water on the flames without violating the posse comatitus act.

8. The Bushies haven't ignored the problem.
They've always had a comprehensive strategy for dealing with these problems: tax cuts for his rich doners, drilling in ANWR for oil, and endless war.

Oh yea - and allowing lumber companies to clear-cut entire forests to "reduce" the threat of forest fires.
