Jobs, Health and Education are more important. That issue should be shoved to the side for the sake of everyone. I hope he continues to make this point despite the phony protests from the supporters of other candidates who weren't smart enough to say it.

2. A completely clueless post.
'Dean is smart about supporting a ban on abortion. Jobs, Health, and Education are more important. That issue should be shoved aside for the sake of everyone. I hope he continues to make this point despite the phony protests from the supporters of other candidates who weren't smart enough to say it. Because what's important is winning and winning only; the Democratic Party has no principles that are important to it any longer.'

3. We all know you favored candidate supported the war
Edited on Sun Nov-02-03 07:08 AM by Classical_Liberal
So you don't mind appealing to repukes at all. Atleast the rebel flag voters are working class people who SHOULD be the democrats constituancy. Not the yuppy suburban voters who want low taxes for rich people, and the elimination of the safety net. Getting these voters to vote their economic interest will do alot more to end racism, then fighting the loser culture war.

6. How quickly we run to dishonesty and irrelevancy.
'We all know?' I don't know it; guess I'm not part of 'we.' By the way, trying such a pathetic red herring underlines the weakness of your position.

You didn't even try to address the real issue; thus: clueless. Getting bigots back into the Democratic party would do nothing more than it did when they were a part of the party, except make their bigotry more legitimate. You call yourself a 'classical liberal;' surely you know the history of the Dixiecrats?

7. You don't know which candidate you support?

I don't think the rebel flag ranks as being an issue as important to blacks as good schools, and good healthcare. It is just a symbol. You are the one that is clueless if you think it does. Frankly the fact that you don't know which candidate you support proves it.

8. So desperate you're grasping at straws.
The candidate I support didn't support the war, so apparently we're talking about two different candidates. You have your opening to try take this off on a tangent now; be my guest.

The Confederate flag is a symbol of oppression. As usual for someone of substandard integrity and poor reasoning skills, you make a flawed argument. Blacks shouldn't have to live in an either/or world: either we get healthcare and so on, or we get rid of the Confederate flag. It should be both. Your candidate apparently didn't think so until last night, when he 'evolved' in the face of criticism, and now thinks people should 'put down the Confederate flag,' whereas before, all he wanted was their votes.

9. Which candidate do you support?

? I don't consider this an either or world. I just don't think the flag is that important. People who do lose to republicans that do. Republicans that do everything they can to fuck up the live of the poor blacks.

4. For months we have been wondering about the southern
votes and the red states from last election. Then one candidate has the guts (actually has been saying the same thing for almost a year) to address the GOP's southern strategy head on, and remind southerners of all stripes that they need education and healthcare more than they need tax cuts and doing away with affirmative action, and the Dem party machinery goes off the deep end. yeesh!

5. If you hang around here you will see most of the loudest
complainers are people who have been screaming that Dean is too liberal to win the South, and or new posters of dubious loyalties.
