Let's make it ABB for real now
Guys we have to put a stop to the fighting within our party. The candidates are having a hard time as it is gaining media attention and raising money. Sure they sometimes jab at each other but that's just politics. They will realize that as the election draws closer this is going to have to stop. Their supporters, our ABB crowd, need to stop this mud slinging. The candidates are being ripped to shreds on this board and I just don't get it. Of course one candidate may say something that tweaks someone the wrong way, but thats no reason to write them off all together. Constructive criticism is almost non existent , and when it does peek its little head out amid all the abusive rhetoric people fail to recognize it. We are democrats. This is OUR country. I want my country BACK! This is an election that we can win with any of the nine candidates out there. It's going to be a tough road to travel with any of the fine men and women we have to pick from, but that's just the set of cards we have been dealt, and I think we can handle it. We should be proud that our selection is so diverse and inherently progressive. This is going to be the first election in which I will be eligible to vote in. When I cast my vote it's not going to be for a specific candidate. It's going to be for the progressive cause that has been trampled upon and shattered during these past several years. The world is going to look anxiously on and hope that intelligent and decent people will prevail in this nation. The fate of many people, not just Americans, lies in our hands. We have a duty to to our country and the world in this next year. If you look at the date today it's only about a year and several days until that first tuesday in Novemeber. Let's make it worthwhile. Let's make our fellow citizens of the world proud by setting aside our differences and and putting forth the best effort possible. This self destruction within our party seems to be setting us back already and it needs to stop. I am ABB all the way baby. And looking forward to the next year I hope we make it fun because next november will be the sweetest victory in the history of progressivism. ABB baby. Hell yeah!

3. Bush must be stopped, but. . .
Those here who prize ideological purity above all (including reasonable compromise) will help assure his "re-election." Better for them to live under the Bush Reich than to help elect a Dem they might disagree with on one or two issues. Sorry - the stakes are too high this time. ABB!

4. It's the compromising on issues that
makes us liberals. Even though something may not jive with our ideology perfectly we have to be able to overcome that. That's why we have the power of broad appeal.Because we please so many viewpoints. But when we start dismantling that by petty fighting it's when the alienation begins. *sigh*

5. You'll never see me posting smears against any of the candidates.
I'm gonna be happy to get this phase of the campaign over and get one candidate positioned so we can focus on getting the AWOL, coke-snortin', Harken-shorting, Enron-sucking, war-profiteering, unelected fraud bounced from his 4 year squat in our White House.
