60 Minutes (11/2/03) - Pirates of the Internet
PIRATES OF THE INTERNET Ð Hollywood is hopping mad because its movies, sometimes even before theyÕre released, are now being swapped and downloaded for free off the Internet. Lesley Stahl reports.

Yep, that must be why Gigli did so poorly at the box office, and Lord of the Rings did so well. That nasty 'ol Internet :eyes:

3. Just saw it... troubling.
I think stealing videos is wrong, no matter how easy it is to do.

4. I saw this commercial they played on CNBC...
They showed all of these workers that work on the movies, that don't make millions of dollars. They were saying don't pirate movies because we won't get paid. Yet... If the movie profits in the box office, which basically every movie does with the exception of Gili (which didn't deserve to profit and nobody in their right mind would waste a blank DVD to pirate it), don't all of these people get paid. I'd say that the movie industry needs to learn from the RIAA's mistake and not fuck themselves over like they did.

5. I want quality, Dolby 5.1 when I watch a movie...
...the "over-the-shoulder" grainy videotaped crap doesn't cut it. Even though I'm a Kazaa-lite user, I'll pass on crappy copies of songs and movies and spend a little to see and hear the real thing...
