What did those poor 15 souls die for?
Edited on Sun Nov-02-03 08:48 PM by kalazh
I just got into an argument with my republican roomate and I asked him what those poor souls died for and he told me that they died for their unit. I asked him what their unit is doing in the middle of the Iragy desert and he said that their unit is under orders and they have to be there. I wanted to screem please please please all of you who were duped buy Bush and his .........wake up, open your eyes, sense the reality. But he didn't react. What do you think those poor 15 souls die for there?

16. and it's one, two, three...what are we fighting for....don't ask me, I
don't give a damn, next stop is Vietnam, oops, Iraqnam....

the only thing that these deaths will accomplish is to speed up the DRAFT...and with bush* throwing another $87 Billion at the Iraq-o-mess...expect a giant inferno to explode in the near future...

and then you'll hear that BIG SUCKING SOUND (the Draft!)

Rumsfield on the Vietnam Draft (Defense briefing, 01/07/03)....

"...and they were sucked into the intake...trained...went out....and then they were GONE..."

20. Young people speaking their minds... gettin' so much resistance
... from behind... we gotta stop, children, what's that sound, everybody look what's goin' down...

The answer, kalazh, is that they died for nothing more than a spot as an etched name on a distant national memorial.

It's been the most awful, tear-filled day. Just awful.

:-(

17. Halliburton's profits up 80%!!
" HOUSTON, United States (AFP) - US oil industry services giant Halliburton said Thursday its Kellogg Brown and Root unit's profits rose four-fold and sales leapt 80 percent, boosted by work in Iraq (Profits from the unit's operations soared to 49 million dollars in the three months to September from 12 million dollars a year earlier, helped by "government services activity in the Middle East," Halliburton said.

KBR, the engineering and construction division that netted a no-bid government contract to help rebuild Iraq's shattered oil industry, also posted an 80-percent jump in sales to 2.3 billion dollars. "

19. They were invaders of a foriegn land
At home, they'd probably all still be alive, or possibly a victim of a "non-combat related" death (I do not for one instant believe what we are being told). Sad as their deaths may be, I'm a lot more concerned for the 16,000 plus Iraqi citizens who have died.

More importantly, it seems to me that the PNAC have made a decision that "who controls oil, controls the world."

26. Your roomate is correct. They did not die "for," they died "because."
They were under orders but they weren't there to die for oil or Bechtel or Halliburton. They were there because they made a commitment and were horribly betrayed.
