"You don't like George Bush much, do you?"
Host on C Span asked this of author, James Bovard (author of Terrorism and Tyranny ). As others have noted, this is the way that the right has chosen to combat criticism of Bush's disastrous tenure--frame us as rabid "Bush haters" to put us in opposition to the irrational "he's a trustworthy, regular, straightshooting kind of guy" perception of many Americans.

I was just surprised that the C Span host, supposedly neutral, would be using the same tactic.

1. and I saw a woman with BIG hair
on Fox this morning after reading, in quite a jolly manner, a report about the downed chopper and the lost lives, say "and now lets hear what Democrat candidates have been saying this morning..and it's all about Iraq of course" and she sort of rolled her eyes as though she thought .."oh god they are so predictable aren't they ?"!

5. Now why would they be talking about Iraq?
Dead soldiers don't matter, just the message. Stay on message!

2. I believe that was Brian Lamb who asked that question
Bovard gave a rather good account of himself, I thought. And, FWIW, he mentioned DU as one of the Internet sites he periodically checks to get a feel for what people are thinking about these days...

6. I thought he really handled the interview
well and he did mention DU - and of course he mentioned that right wing sight also. Said he read both to get an idea of what people were thinking.
