The Parade section of the Sunday paper -- Ques about Arnold
Question: What kind of governor do you think Arnold Schwarnegger will make?

Answer: Schwarznegger, 56, will be a Democrat in a Republican loincloth.

Sounds like Parade is written by a Republican.

1. Parade has always seemed right wing
They seem to push the right wing agenda pretty well from what I've seen of that newspaper insert.

2. Stopped reading Parade ...
when someone wrote in asking about what's up with Chelsea Clinton. The answer was that she was boozing it up in Europe and "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" in regards to her father.

I throw it away with the sales papers.

3. I never read it, except the main article looked interesting.
It's about a teacher that's pushing AP courses for more of his students and has a high success rate for encouraging kids to go to college.

4. The Parade Section gets pulled out and tossed in the garbage
immediately on Sundays.

It's a total right-wing rag.

6. I remember one where Walter supposedly listed the First Ladies
who had had face-lifts. He listed several (whether true or not I don't know) but did not include Nancy Reagan. :silly:

Parade is a joke -- and a fascist rag.

7. You're Lucky. Those of us who get USA Weekend got Toby Keith
smirking at us on the cover.

8. Whoever writes that has been pretty off the mark for years now.
The same column sneered that John McCain is "a Democrat in all but name."

When writing about actress Sophie Thompson, the columnist opined that she wasn't as pretty as her sister (actress Emma Thompson), and when readers complained about the sexism and snottiness of the comment, he huffed that women were judged by their looks in the movie business.

Yeah, and columnists are judged by their gratuitous nastiness.
