That thought from the Yeats poem has been bothering me for days.

6. I wonder what pressure was used against them.
Demonstrates the absolute power of the regime and the misguided rule of the FCC.

7. Every tiime they "win" we all lose BIG..
There are not that many of them, but they are organized and they know how to squeal like the little piggies they are..

I can only hope that CBS actually ADDS stuff that they were afraid to before, and releases it to Showtime with a HUGE splash, so that people will talk about it.MORE ..

10. The producers should sue CBS, The RNC and
FreeRepublic.com. If this is true I'm sure they've already made the call to their lawyers. They stand to lose a ton of cash in the deal.

The precedent this sets is chilling.

with their whining. I am so depressed. This has been a lousy week for we Dems. WHY does NOTHING go our way? What the hell are we doing wrong? Why do the repukes always win their battles? I'm so sick and tired of this.

17. I bet Letterman's next
Now that wholesale censoring of public entertainment is the norm. I wonder if they will just bleep his Bush jokes or censor the jokes before they are even written? Maybe it'd be easier to just cancel the show entirely.

This whole thing is so sad.

18. Any confirmation of this on a non-fiction site?
Drudge is always wrong, except for the proverbial broken clock occasions.

If true, wouldn't Showtime be a good venue? That way they could include some of Kitty Kelly's details. Imagine Frank Sinatra and Nancy in all their glory... Eh, maybe not.

19. This has got to be the most chicken-shittinest cowardly time
in American History. Christ, even in the Cold War hysteria of the 50s, great CBS newsmen like Ed Murrow still stand up to the McCarthys. They would risk everything to stand up for what they believed. CBS was the last bastion and now it's gone. The whole culture of free people will have to change dramatically. Revolution or nothing.

20. So we get the uncut version on Showtime?
Good, if the film turns out to be a complete farce, then it was only on Showtime. If it isn't that bad, we can use it to our advantage.

21. This could have been a result of creative differences not freeper pressure
The showing of the uncut version may reflect the directors objection showing the hacked version on CBS.
