2. The photo itself is newsworthy, I guess...
...but it is shocking. Not seeing the man's face makes it a bit less hard to take.

Mostly I'm stunned by the way the page was formatted, with the photo cropped really tall and narrow, as if to emphasize the fall, and occupying a huge part of the front page. I don't want to throw around the word "sensationalistic", but that's what came immediately to mind.

6. File help.
The file is in Adobe Acrobat format, so requires Adobe Acrobat Reader (a free application) to view it.

IE can be configured to show Acrobat content within the browser window, but I have better luck just right-clicking the link and downloading the file to my hard drive, then opening it in Acrobat Reader. You may want to try that.

the above is the URL - but it did not load in my machine so I had to walk through www.cleveland.com/frontpage to get to it.

7. Not sure how they can show that
Not in good conscience, anyway. The other appalling story there was how Ohio is losing so many college educated young people. I can't really blame them for leaving, either. No decent paying jobs, an electorate that keeps voting in crooked repugs, and taxes on everything. Plus idiotic gun laws that try to make it a crime to posess a gun anywhere but locked away in your home. I just wish I could leave here, and go somewhere with nice winters.

8. Disgusting sensationalism. What if the guy has kids?
They'll have to see their dad falling to his death on every news stand.

BTW, the link didn't work for me. I had to go to http://www.cleveland.com/frontpage and enter in my gender & birthdate. Then, the pdf wouldn't automatically open up. I had to right-click and save the pdf on my computer.

To anyone else who couldn't open the link, it is a front page color photo of a man falling from a tall brick building. He died at the hospital.

10. the link worked fine for me and opened automatically
For some reason I'm not too shocked by the picture, although I'd agree with whoever said that the way it's cropped and printed on the front page, very big and accentuating the height of the fall, is subliminally exploitative because it subtly sensationalizes the event.

11. Very questionable taste.
I never approve of anything that would hurt a family and is totally without some merit as a picture or a story. They say he is unidentified which means they printed the picture without even thinking about it. That's scary.
