Repukes running unopposed!
I went to vote at 6:30am this morning on the 3 races in my area.

2 of the races were repukes running unopposed while the 3rd was a repuke vs. an Independent. As for my votes, of course I voted for the Indie as wellas writing in the names "Weir Screwed" and "M. Peach Bush"

I have to admit it is disheartening and I think I want to run, not so much to win but just to make it a contest. Is it expensive?

2. run carrowsboy run
It makes me crazy when we let the republicans run un-opposed. I think sometimes the state or local democratic parties don't want to be embarrassed by losing elections big.

So they don't run anybody at all.

I suspect that if you ran and got the support of dean/clark/kucinich/kerry/other supporters, you might be able to make a race out of it - or at least give the republicans something to think about.

A couple of DUers are running around the nation. (for office.)

3. Heard dat.
Voting in central MS today, there were 25 slots, 15 of them unopposed R.

Damn!

At least all the state-wide slots were covered. And some of the R's were probably just flags of convenience.

Still, makes you want to qualify just to have a dem circle to fill in.

4. A MS native
I'm originally from Rankin county. Yes I know, one of the more redneck counties in the state. What county are you located? I just hope that Musgrove wins just so I can see the sour expression on Bush's and Cheney's face----that MS is not for sale. Oh well it was just a thought. LOL

6. Where do you live?
I was thinking about this the other day, in some of the rural Republican areas there simply isn't ANY attempt to compete. With a lack of competition, come no organization. I think it would be in our best interests to at least try, and in the process we could be picking up 5% to 10% in these areas.
